For the weekend of Saturday, November 26, 2017 the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour set up shop in Arlington, Texas to host the Dallas Fall Classic hosted by Tierra Verde Golf Club. The HJGT would like to thank the amazing staff members of Tierra Verde for their hospitality and ensuring wonderful playing conditions for our field.
Anthony Elisco IV is the boys 16-18 Champion. Shooting 77 on Saturday and 71 on Sunday, the Heath, TX native was able to edge out the rest of the division in a showdown that came down to the last hole. Roger Nakagawa of Denver, CO posted impressive scores each day with a 77 and a 79 on Saturday and Sunday respectively. His score of 156 was good enough to bring home second place honors. Samuel Robinson of Frisco, TX took home third place honors with a two-day score of 158(80-78). A tight competition coupled with great play from all competitors provided for a fantastic finish by this division.
Our boys 14-15 champion is Kaelen Dulany of Keller, TX. Dulany posted a total score of 152(75-77) to secure a victory, while showcasing an impressive set of skills. Kyle Nguyenphu of Allen, TX took home second place with a two-day total of 166(85-81). Connor Myrick took home third place honors.
Hunter Millsap is our boys 11-13 champion. The Frisco, TX native posted an impressive two-day score of 158(85-73). Millsap’s impressive set of skills allowed him to navigate around a challenging course and edge out the competition in a come from behind victory. Second place honors were taken by Sterling Hurd. The 10 year-old Austin, TX native moved up a division, but didn’t let the longer distances or older competition rattle him. He went on to post a two-day score of 162(75-80). Zachary Lewallen-Le of Waxahachie, TX took home 3rd place honors with a score of 169(82-79).
Ellie Roth is our girls 16-18 champion. The Plano, TX native was able to produce the two best individual rounds of the tournament in route to a two-day score of 141(70-71). Elli Gordon of McKinney, TX took home second place honors. Gordon posted a two-day score of 151. Third place was claimed by Avery Zweig. Zweig, another competitor playing up a division, produced an 80 and 73 on Saturday and Sunday respectively.
Kate Strickland is our Girls 13U champion. The Lincoln, NE native produced a two-day total of 155(76-79). Rori Fanning took home second place honors with a pair of impressive rounds. Fanning posted scores of 82 and 85 on Saturday and Sunday respectively. Rounding out the Division we have Miyoko Tan in third place. The Coppell, TX native shot an 81 Saturday and 85 on Sunday.
