Coral Springs Junior Open

From April 9th-10th, 2022, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Coral Springs Junior Open. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of six divisions that included the Boys 16-18 Division, Boys 14-15 Division, Boys 11-13 Division, Boys Under 10 Division, Girls 14-18 Division, and Girls Under 13 Division.

Boys 16-18

Coral Springs Junior Open

Zachary Loninger from Crosswicks, NJ was the first-place finisher this weekend. Loninger brought in scores of 73 and 75 for a combined total of 148 for the weekend. David Fuhrer from Pittsburgh, PA was the runner-up this weekend with scores of 88 and 77 for a combined total of 165. Walter Pfaffenberger from West Palm Beach, FL finished with top three honors with scores of 83 and 84 for a weekend total of 167.

Boys 14-15

Samuel Gilden from Davie, FL was the first-place finisher this weekend. Gilden brought in scores of 87 and 89 for a combined total of 176 for the weekend. Robert Matthews II from Managua, Nicaragua, and Juan Bautista Salgueiro from Ciudad Autonoma de Buenos Aires, Argentina tied for runner-up this weekend with scores of 92 and 90, and 93 and 89, respectively, for a combined total of 182 each.

Bento Assis from Boca Raton, FL was the first-place finisher this weekend. Assis brought in scores of 75 and 82 for a combined total of 157 for the weekend. Axel Monssoh from Miami, FL was the runner-up this weekend with scores of 79 and 79 for a combined total of 158. Kenny Klein from Palm Beach Gardens, FL finished top three honors with scores of 72 and 76 for a weekend total of 148.

Micaela Ruidias from Lima, Peru finished top three honors with scores of 85 and 81 for a weekend total of 166.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 8-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. The tour’s vision is to provide superb hospitality and make every event a memorable one. With play open to both males and females, nearly every junior golfer is eligible to participate on the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour. Currently the HJGT is the largest multi-day junior golf tour in the United States hosting more 2-day nationally ranked events than any other tour. The HJGT has been able to achieve this goal by running the most professional events and providing an exceptional value to all of our players and families over the last 14 years.

Based out of Orlando, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the country. In 2021, the HJGT will conduct events in Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Canada. Juniors will compete in 1 of 6 divisions which are: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys under 10, Girls 14-18, and Girls Under 13. Click here to view approximate yardages for each division. The HJGT season is based on a calendar year and players earn points throughout the season towards year end honors beginning December 31, 2021.
