On Saturday December 15 – Sunday December 16, 2018 The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Copperhead Junior Open in Palm Harbor, FL. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole, two-day format and the field was made from five divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Justin Rose Division Girls U13, and the Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18. Tiger Woods Boys 16-18
Matthew Chorches captured the first-place finish at the Copperhead Junior Open in the Tiger Woods Boys 16-18 Division with a two-day total of +8. Chorches was able to take the first-place trophy by defeating 2nd place finisher, Carson Duffy, in a one-hole playoff. Rounding out the division in third place was Mariano Ayora who finished with a two-day total of +10.
Will Smith Boys 14-15
In the Will Smith Boys 14-15 Division, Cameron Johnstone finished with a two-day total of +8 for the first-place victory. Solid play in the second round allowed Johnstone to hold his winning spot over both Aiden O'Hagan and Nils Nottebohm who both played solid and tied for second with a total of +12.
Ernie Els 11-13
Aaron Huang did not disappoint in the Ernie Els Boys 11-13 Division as he carded +11 for the weekend to win in his division over Asa Holsonback who finished at +30 to claim 2nd place. Behind Holsonback was Ethan Coffield who shot a two-day total of +33 to take a solo 3rd place finish.
Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18
Darcey Harry ended up with the first-place finish in the Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18 Division by finishing with a total of +2. With consistent rounds, Harry was able to hold off Anne Fernandez by 3 shots. Rounding out the division was Mariana Mesones who shot a two-day total of +10 to claim the 3rd place finish.
Justin Rose Girls U13
In the Justin Rose Girls U13 Division, Anna Huang took home a solo first-place victory with a two-day total of +20. Taking second place was Camryn Coffield who had a two-day total of +37. Rounding out the division was Elyse Meerdink who ended the weekend at +37 to take the solo 3rd place finish.
