Connecticut Season Finale

On Saturday October 20 – Sunday October 21, 2018 The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Connecticut Season Finale at Hop Meadow Country Club in Simsbury, CT. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole, two-day format and the field was made from six divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Bryson Dechambeau Division Boys U10, Justin Rose Division Girls U13, and the Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18.

Tiger Woods Boys 16-18

Connecticut Season Finale

Jack Godin captured the first-place finish at the Connecticut Season Finale in the Tiger Woods Boys 16-18 division with a 2-day total of 156 (78-78). With solid play both days, Godin was able to hold off Michael Donnelly and Jared Walter by only 3 shots leaving them tied for second with a total of 159.

Will Smith Boys 14-15

Connecticut Season Finale

In the Will Smith Boys14-15 division, Peter Meehan took home first place this weekend with a 2-day total of 166. Solid play in the second round allowed Meehan to take victory over Christopher Pieper and John Guerrera who finished tied for second with a 2-day total of 167.

Ernie Els 11-13

Connecticut Season Finale

Elias Kennon did not disappoint in the Ernie Els boys 11-13 division as he carded rounds of 78-85 to win in his division over Angad Manaise who carded rounds of 92-90 to claim 2nd place. Alexander Enslein shot a 2-day total of 183 (87-96) to take a solo 3rd place finish.

Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18

Connecticut Season Finale

Elizabeth Garfield ended up with the first-place finish in the Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18 Division by carding a total of 166 (84-82). With consistent rounds, Garfield was able to hold off 2nd place finisher Amber Pennington by 1 shot. Rounding out the division was Sophia Sarrazin and Mia Grzywinski who each shot a 2-day total of 171 to tie for 3rd place.

In the Justin Rose Girls U13 division, Kennedy Swedick took home the victory with a 2-day total of 161. Sydney Young followed behind with a 2-day total of 169 to take a solo 2nd finish. Rounding out the division is Nicole Criscone who finished with a 2-day total of 171.

In the Bryson Dechambeau boys U10 division, Nicky Jadav took home the victory with a 2-day total of 175. Josh Orgen followed behind with a 2-day total of 191 to take a solo 2nd finish. Rounding out the division is Will Lord who finished with a -day total of 192.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
