Columbia Junior Open

From March 6-7, 2021, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Disney Junior Open. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of five divisions that included the Boys 16-18 Division, Boys 14-15 Division, Boys 11-13 Division, Boys U10 Division and Girls 14-18 Division.

Columbia Junior Open

Spencer Benton from Gilbert, SC was the first-place finisher this weekend. Benton brought in scores of 80 and 79 for a combined total of 159 for the weekend. Will Robinson from Greer, SC was the runner up this weekend. Robinson finished with scores of 77 and 83 for a combined total of 160 strokes. Charles Stanley from Warrenville, SC finished with the top three honors this weekend. Stanely brought in consistent scores of 81 for a weekend total of 162.

OT Mitchell from Fort Mill, SC was the first-place finisher this weekend. Mitchell brought in scores of 74 and 84 for a combined total of 158 for the weekend. Michael Bennett from Williamsburgh, VA was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 88 and 89 for a combined total of 177. James Carr from Hilton Head, SC finished the top three honors with consistent scores of 89 for a weekend total of 178.

Joseph Morinelli from Crozet, VA was the first-place finisher this weekend. Morinelli brought in scores of 80 and 82 for a combined total of 162 for the weekend. Baker Tolentino from Tega Cay, SC finished the top three honors with scores of 93 and 95 for a weekend total of 188.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 8-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. The tour’s vision is to provide superb hospitality and make every event a memorable one. With play open to both males and females, nearly every junior golfer is eligible to participate on the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour. Currently the HJGT is the largest multi-day junior golf tour in the United States hosting more 2-day nationally ranked events than any other tour. The HJGT has been able to achieve this goal by running the most professional events and providing an exceptional value to all of our players and families over the last 14 years.

Based out of Orlando, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the country. In 2021, the HJGT will conduct events in Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Canada. Juniors will compete in 1 of 6 divisions which are: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys under 10, Girls 14-18, and Girls Under 13. Click here to view approximate yardages for each division. The HJGT season is based on a calendar year and players earn points throughout the season towards year end honors beginning December 31, 2021.
