From Saturday, June 22nd through Sunday June 23rd, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the College Prep Series at UK (Wildcat). The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of six divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Bryson DeChambeau Boys 10 and Under, Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18, and the Justin Rose Division Girls 13 and Under.
Tiger Woods Boys 16-18
C.J Corum of Manchester, KY took the lead after scoring a 79 and remaining at the top of the leaderboard all weekend. Corum followed up his first-round score with an 73 on Sunday to win by a two-shot margin. For second place, we had a three-way tie with Jakob Begley of Manchester KY, Dylan McGrathof Louisville, KY and Will Isaacs of Mount Vernon, KY. All three players shot weekend totals of 154 strokes to claim runner-up honors.
Will Smith Boys 14-15
Drew Tinsley of Louisville, KY was our lone competitor for the weekend with a score of 167 strokes and an 81 on Saturday. Tinsley was able to claim victory after consistent weekend rounds.
Ernie Els 11-13
Landen Howard of Richmond, KY led the division with a weekend total of 147 strokes. Howard shot rounds of 74-73 to claim victory honors over his closest competitors. Following him was Weston Miller of Jackson with a weekend total of 161 shots, tying with Nate Benson of Fishers, IN for runner-up place.
Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18
McKenna Stahl of Bowling Green, IN shot a two-day total of 159 strokes to take home first-place honors with a final round 79. Following her was Jacqueline Steier of Louisville, KY with a weekend total of 161 shots, just two shy of the winner. Rounding up our top-three was Hailey Coleman of Radcliff, KY with a weekend total of 166 shots.
Justin Rose Girls U13
Isabella Christy of Paintsville, Taiwan shot a 79 the first day to lead the division all weekend. Christy was able to seal the victory with a final-round of 83 and a weekend total of 162 strokes. Following her was Ava Bunker of Franklin, IN with a weekend total of 167 and claimed solo runner-up honors. Rounding up our top-three was Carter Lankford of Lexington, KY with a weekend total of 170 strokes.
Boys 10 Under
Hunter Majors of Louisville, KY was our lone competitor for the weekend with a score of 192 strokes. Majors was able to claim victory after consistent weekend rounds.
