On Saturday and Sunday, October 28-29 the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour was in Athens to host the College Prep Series at the beautiful University of Georgia Golf Course. The players battled through a brisk and windy weekend, but it wasn’t too much to keep us all from having a good time! The HJGT would like to thank the amazing staff of the University of Georgia Golf Course for their hospitality and ensuring excellent conditions for the field of play.
Harry Reynolds of Greenville, SC is the Boys 16-18 champion. Reynolds had a 1st round of 72 on Saturday and a 2nd round of 75 on Sunday for a two-day total of 147. Patrick Jean-Pierre of Augusta, GA came in 2nd with a two day total of 147. Jean-Pierre had a 1st round of 70 and 2nd round of 77 coming away with a 147 total. 3rd place was given to Jack Vajda who carded a two-day total of 148 (67-81). The players had a great time competing and their close scores made it even more exciting.
Will Stakel of Duluth, GA is the Boys 14-15 champion. After a 77 on Saturday, Stakel carded a 78 on Sunday for a two-day total of 155. Mason Dean of Duluth, GA came in 2nd with a two-day total of 156 (70-86). Lucas Hopkins of Thomson, GA finished in 3rd place with a two-day total of 157 (76-81).
Billy Abdow of Duluth, GA is the champion of the Boys 11-13 division. Abdow carded a 71 on Saturday and an 80 on Sunday for a 151 two-day total to claim the title. Jack Taylor came in 2nd after finishing with a two-day total of 155 (80-75). 3rd was awarded to Chapman Barnett who totaled 156 (78-78). This division had great competition and each player can walk away proud of their effort.
Amy Ng of Alpharetta, GA is the Girls 14-18 champion. Ng scored a 74 on Saturday, and an 83 on Sunday for a two-day total of 157. Finishing in 2nd from Marietta, GA was Allie Kantor who posted rounds of 78 and 81 to finish with a total of 159. 3rd place was awarded to Yeon Joo Kim of Seoul, South Korea who shot 76 on Saturday and 83 on Sunday for a two-day total of 159. The girls all performed well and enjoyed the competition.
Reagan Folk, of Madison, GA took home the 1st place trophy for the Girls under 13 division. Folk ended Saturday with a score of 87 and a Sunday score of 86 for a two-day total of 173. 2nd place was awarded to Kelli Scheck of Greensboro, GA who had a first round score of 93 and a second round score of 85 with a two-day total of 178. Marie Tesiero of Saint Johns, FL came in 3rd with a two-day total of 189 (96-93). The girls all played well together and came away with great scores.
