From Saturday, May 25th through Monday, May 27th, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the College Prep Series at Purdue, Birck Boilermaker Golf Club, IN. The tournament was made up of a 54-hole format with a field of six divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Bryson DeChambeau Division Boys 10 and Under, Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18, and the Justin Rose Division Girls 13 and Under.

Tiger Woods Boys 16-18

College Prep Series at Purdue

Garret Smith of Mount Sterling, KY shot an impressive 73 the second round to remain of top of the leaderboard the rest of the week and claim victory with a 228 three-day total. Smith won by a margin of three shots over his closest competitor with a 76 the final round. Dylan Gabbart of Lakewood Ranch, FL finished in second place after shooting a three-round total of 231. And rounding up the top-three was Grant Puckett of Clay, KY with a three-day total of 233.

Will Smith Boys 14-15

College Prep Series at Purdue

Blake Stamper of Henryville, IN shot a three-day total of 246 to take an early lead on Saturday and remain in contention through Monday, winning with a twenty one-shot margin over his closest competitor. Closing out the week with an 82 on Monday, Stamper was able to take home the hardware. Runner-up Jonathan Fay of Ada, MI shot a three-day total of 267 to take solo second-place honors. Rounding up the top-three for the division was Mitchell Perdue from Lewis Center, OH with a total of 273 for the week.

Ernie Els 11-13

College Prep Series at Purdue

John “Bubba” Chapman of St. Louis, MO led the Ernie Els Boys Division with a 224 three-round total to take an early lead with a first-round 78 and lead the rest of the week. Chapman closed out his three-day total with outstanding 73’s on Sunday and Monday respectively. Following his lead, Happy Gilmore from Bloomfield, IN improved his scoring each day to finish with a 228 three-round total and take runner-up honors.

Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18

College Prep Series at Purdue

Sarah Arnold of St. Charles, IL shot a stellar three-day total of 223 to take home first-place honors with a six-shot margin over her closest competitor. Arnold finished her week with a 74 on Monday to seal the victory. Following her was Lilia Henkel of Grand Rapids, MI with a three-day total of 238. Rounding up the top-three, Anna Fay of Ada, MI finished with a 244 for the week and claim solo third-place honors.

Justin Rose Girls U13

College Prep Series at Purdue

Paige Giovenco of Sellersburg, IN shot a three-day total of 263. With an impressive margin of 19 shots, Giovecco was able to seal the victory and take home first-place honors. Following her was Lexi Ray of Franklin, TN with a three-day total of 282 and claim solo runner-up honors.

Boys 10 Under

College Prep Series at Purdue

Sam Carraher of Crown Point, IN lead the way in the Boys 10 and Under division with a total of 229 for the week. Shooting a stellar 75 and 74 on Saturday and Sunday to finish at the top of the leaderboard by a four-shot margin and take home first place solo honors. Brycen Tisch of Zionsville, IN close to the lead with a 233 total for runner-up honors. And rounding up the top-three was MacaulayMyers of Whitestown, IN with a three-day total of 249.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
