On Wednesday, July 18 – Thursday, July 19, 2018, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour hosted the College Prep Series at Maryland in College Park. The two-day, thirty-six-hole course held at George W. Cobb consisted of players from all six of our divisions, including, the Tiger Woods Boys 16-18 Division, Will Smith Boys 14-15 Division, Ernie Els Boys 11-13 Division, Bryson DeChambeau Boys U10 Division, Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18 Division, and the Justin Rose Girls U13 Division.
Boys 16-18

Angus Ricks of Arlington finished at +1 to win the Tiger Woods Boys 16-18 Division. He made 7 birdies and led his playing field with the lowest Par 3 average (2.8) and the lowest scoring average (71.5). There was a tie for second-place between Bryan Kim (Brookeville, MD) and Alessandro Lamarca (Westwood, NJ) as they both completed the thirty-six rounds at +2.
Boys 14-15

In the Will Smith Boys 14-15 Division, it was Aryan Vuradi of Brambleton, Virginia who captured the victory as he completed the two-day tournament. He had a Par 3 average of 3.4 and led his playing field with the lowest scoring average at 74.5. As for second-place, there was a two-way tie between Ashita Piamkulvanich and Mehrbaan Singh (Ashburn, VA) after they each made 152 strokes for a +10 finish. Piamkulvanich and Vuradi each made 5 birdies, tying for the most in their division.
Boys 11-13

Teddy Seitz of Washington D.C. had a successful thirty-six holes as he made 162 strokes to finish at +20 and win the Ernie Els Boys 11-13 Division. His big victory comes from the little victories he had on the course including the most birdies (3), the lowest Par 3 average (3.4), and the lowest scoring average (81) in his division. This is Teddy’s first victory on tour with us this year, followed by his previous four Top-10 finishes.
Girls 14-18

Patranit Chuaychoo won the Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18 Division after completing the thirty-six holes at +5. She led her playing field with the most birdies (7), the longest birdie or better streak (2), and the lowest scoring average (73.5). Second-place finisher was Allie LeeHoffman of McLean, Virginia who made 157 strokes for a +15 finish. Kara Kniezewski of Blue Bell, Pennsylvania placed third as her 160 strokes resulted in a +18 finish.
Girls U13

In the Justin Rose Girls U13 Division, Ellison Lundquist of Furlong, Pennsylvania was victorious after finishing the two-day tournament at +3. She led her playing field with the most birdies (7), the longest birdie or better streak (3), the lowest scoring average (72.5), and the longest Par 3 average (3.0). Hannah Rabb of Watsontown, Pennsylvania placed second with 164 strokes for a +22 finish. Third-place finisher Shelby Herbert of Charlotte Hall, Maryland completed the thirty-six holes at +32.
Boys 10 Under

It was Jason Park of Fulton, Maryland who walked away the champion in the Bryson DeChambeau Boys U10 Division after making 149 strokes to finish the thirty-six holes at +7. He was successful on the course as he made the most birdies (6) and the lowest Par 3 average (3.4), lowest scoring average (74.5), and the longest birdie or better streak (2). This is Jason’s first victory on tour with us this year, following his second-place finish a month ago.

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.
The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
