From March 20th to March 21st, 2021, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held theRichmond Junior Open. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of five divisions that included the Boys 16-18 Division, Boys 14-15 Division, Boys 11-13 Division, Girls 14-18 Division, and Girls Under 13 Division.
Boys 16-18

Leo Wessel from Indianapolis, IN was the first-place finisher this weekend after sinking a 35ft putt to win in a playoff. Wessel brought in scores of 80 and 73 for a combined total of 153 for the weekend. Riley Hnatyshyn from Abita Springs, LA was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 78 and 75 for a combined total of 153. Happy Gilmore from Bloomfield, IN and Jackson Hulsey from Saint Charles, IL tied for the top three honors. Gilmore finished with scores of 81 and 74 for a weekend total of 155. Hulsey brought in scores of 80 and 75 for a weekend total of 155.
Boys 14-15

John “Bubba” Chapman from St. Louis, MO was the first-place finisher this weekend. Chapman brought in scores of 73 and 75 for a combined total of 148 for the weekend. Nate Benson from Fishers, IN was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 80 and 78 for a combined total of 158. Bryce Conlee from Zionsville, IN finished with the top three honors with scores of 82 and 78 for a weekend total of 160.
Boys 11-13

Nick Vilela from Washington, MO was the first-place finisher this weekend. Vilela brought in scores of 70 and 75 for a combined total of 145 for the weekend. Will Judd from Louisville, KY was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 79 and 74 for a combined total of 153. Eli Wessel from Indinapolis, IN finished with the top three honors with scores of 74 and 81 for a weekend total of 155.
Girls 14-18

Macie Brown from Mount Washington, KY was the first-place finisher this weekend. Brown brought in scores of 74 and 77 for a combined total of 151 for the weekend. Sophie Christopher from Germantown, KY was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 79 and 76 for a combined total of 155. Cathryn Brown from Eddyville, KY, Cybil Stillson from Nappanee, IN, and Isabella Wiley from Bagdad, KY all tied for the top three honors bringing in scores of 156 for the weekend.
Girls U13

Keira Yun from Elizabethtown, KY was the first place finisher this weekend. Yun brought in scores of 84 and 76 for a combined total of 160 for the weekend. Lillian O’Grady from Grand Rapids, MI was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 87 and 86 for a combined total of 173. Rylee Brockhouse from Muscatine, IA finished with the top three honors with scores of 91 and 87 for a weekend total of 178.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour
In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.
The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
