The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour hosted the College Prep Series at Kent State on Saturday, May 26 – Monday, May 29, 2018 in Ravenna, Ohio. The three-day, 54-hole tournament that took place on Memorial Day Weekend had a field made from five divisions that included, the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Boys U10, and the Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18 Division.
Boys 16-18

Brett Montgomery of Harpster, Ohio captured the title in the Tiger Woods Boys 16-18 Division with a three-day total of 205. He led the field in lowest scoring average (68.3) and most birdies (13). He finished round one in the lead with 69 strokes and improved to 68 for both round two and three. Like Montgomery, Dylan Fitches shot a 68 in round three to help him finish second with a total of 211. Aditya Achar and Elliot Haas both shot +9 for the weekend, making them tied for third-place (219).
Boys 14-15

The Will Smith Boys 14-15 Division first-place finisher was Charlie Fischer (+18) from Orchard Park, New York. He led the field in the lowest scoring average (76) which helped him become victorious on the weekend with a total of 228. Second and third place finishers, Aryan Vuradi and Darin Hudak, both shot 78 in the final round, totaling their scores to 234 and 235, respectively.
Boys 11-13

Jacob Dantonio of Lancaster, New York took home the victory in the Ernie Els Boys 11-13 Division, shooting a total of 234. His success on the front 9 (37.7) helped him lead the field in lowest scoring average of (78). Second place finisher, Tyler Fink shot 236 on the weekend. Dantonio and Fink tied for most birdies (6).
Girls 14-18

Jessica Hahn, of Canton, Ohio, finished -5 on the weekend which allowed her to clinch the Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18 Division victory. She led the field with the lowest scoring average (68.3), longest birdie or better streak (3), and most birdies (15). Hudson, Ohio’s Jenn David placed second by finishing +7 and making 8 birdies. Third place finisher, Jennifer Wang, of Solon, Ohio, finished +10.
Girls U13
Boys 10 Under

In the Boys U10 Division, Jackson Harris, of Powell, Ohio, secured the first-place finish at +3. He led the field in most birdies (6), lowest scoring average (71.5), and shot par in round three. Brady Barnum, of Dublin, Ohio, had 5 birdies that helped lead him to a second-place finish at +15. Third-place finisher, Vishruth Badiga from Powell, Ohio, finished out the tournament with a total of 218.

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
