College Prep Series at Furman

On Saturday October 13 – Sunday October 14, 2018 The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the College Prep Series at Furman University in Greenville, SC. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole, two-day format and the field was made from six divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Bryson Dechambeau Division Boys U10, Justin Rose Division Girls U13, and the Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18.

Tiger Woods Boys 16-18

College Prep Series at Furman

Sam Barton captured the first-place finish at the College Prep Series at Furman in the Tiger Woods Boys 16-18 division with a 2-day total of 142 (68-74). With solid play both days, Barton was able to hold off Cade Hancock by only 2 shots having him place for second with a total of 144. Rounding out the division was Tommy Lamb with a two day total of 145.

Will Smith Boys 14-15

College Prep Series at Furman

In the Will Smith Boys 14-15 division Lucan Jinglov took home first place this weekend in shooting a 2-day total of 155. Solid play in the second round allowed Jinglov to take victory over Will Jones who had a two-day total of 158. Rounding out the division was Robert Thompson IV, Keegan brown, and Will Herman  tying in third with a 2-day total of 159.

Ernie Els 11-13

College Prep Series at Furman

William Jennings did not disappoint in the Ernie Els boys 11-13 division as he carded rounds of 68-69 to win in his division over Jackson Byrd who carded rounds of 79-69 to claim 2nd place. Tip Price shot a 2-day total of 150 (73-77) to take a solo 3rd place finish.

Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18

College Prep Series at Furman

Romina Villanueva ended up with the first-place finish in the Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18 Division by carding a total of 146 (72-74). With consistent rounds, Villanueva was able to hold off Susana Olivares by 1 shot and claiming 2nd place. Rounding out the division was YeonJoo Kim, Mary Hunt Murray and Maggie Jackson who shot a 2-day total of 153 to claim 3rd place.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
