On Wednesday, August 1 - Thursday, August 2, 2018, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour hosted the College Prep Series at Duke in Durham, North Carolina. The two-day, thirty-six-hole course held at the Duke University Golf Club consisted of players from all six of our divisions including the Tiger Woods Boys 16-18 Division, Will Smith Boys 14-15 Division, Ernie Els Boys 11-13 Division, Bryson DeChambeau Boys U10 Division, Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18 Division, and the Justin Rose Girls U13 Division.
Boys 16-18

George Clark of South Riding, Virginia secured the title in the Tiger Woods Boys 16-18 Division as he totaled +8 at the end of the two days. He made 3 birdies and led his playing field with the lowest scoring average of 76. Second-place finisher, Junfan Wang of Shandong, completed the thirty-six holes with a combined +9. Tommy Lamb of Apex, North Carolina placed third after making 155 strokes that resulted in a +11 finish.
Boys 14-15

It was Hong Kong's Ka Jun Yu that claimed the first-place trophy with his +12 total to win the Will Smith Boys 14-15 Division. Ashita Piamkulvanich finished just one shot behind Ka Jun Yu, completing the thirty-six holes with a total of +13 to take second place. Ka Jun Yu led his playing field with the lowest scoring average (78) and tied Ashita for the lowest Par-3 average (3). Third-place finisher was Jack Berl of Victor, New York who made 171 strokes for a +27 finish.
Boys 11-13

In the Ernie Els Boys 11-13 Division, Miller Carr of Virginia Beach was victorious with his +6 total. He led his playing field with the most birdies (10) and the lowest scoring average (75). Second-place finisher, Isaiah Marseille of Linden, New Jersey, shot 156 strokes to complete the thirty-six holes at +12. There was a tie for third-place between ShenZhen's ZiHe Bian and Wake Forest's Jace Butcher as they both made 158 strokes for a +14 finish.
Girls 14-18

Taipei's Chiachiean Hsieh was the Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18 Division's tournament champion after totaling +18 at the end of the two rounds. She made 1 birdie and led her playing field with the lowest scoring average of 81. There was a tie for second-place between Caraline Oakley of Southampton, New York and Patranit Chuaychoo who both made 164 strokes to finish with a +20 total.
Girls U13

Kiera Bartholomew of Westampton, New Jersey had a successful two-days totaling +17 to win the Justin Rose Girls U13 Division. She led her playing field with the most birdies (4), the lowest Par-3 average (4.1), and the lowest scoring average (82.5). This is Kiera's first victory on tour, following her other five Top-5 finishes this season.
Boys 10 Under

Wrightsville Beach's Cash Scerri walked away the champion in the Bryson DeChambeau Boys U10 Division after making 182 strokes for a +38 finish. He led his playing field with the most birdies (1), the lowest Par-3 average (3.2), and the lowest scoring average (91). This is Cash's first tournament with the HJGT and what better way to start off then with a victory.

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.
The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
