On Monday, July 23 – Tuesday, July 24, 2018, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour hosted the College Prep Series at Clemson in Clemson, South Carolina. The two-day, thirty-six-hole tournament held on the Clemson University Golf Club – Walker Course, consisted of players from five of our divisions including the Tiger Woods Boys 16-18 Division, Will Smith Boys 14-15 Division, Ernie Els Boys 11-13 Division, Bryson DeChambeau Boys U10 Division, and the Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18 Division.
Boys 16-18

Thailand’s Jirapon Kluaymaingarm back-to-back rounds of 71 resulted in his -2 total to claim the title in the Tiger Woods Boys 16-18 Division. He made 5 birdies and led his playing field with the lowest scoring average of 71. Peech Bunnabodee placed second with his 143 strokes that allowed him to finish at -1. Third-place finisher, Steven Strasheim of Bluffton, South Carolina made 145 strokes for a +1 finish through the thirty-six holes.
Boys 14-15

n the Will Smith Boys 14-15 Division, it was Ashita Piamkulvanich who became champion with his +6 total over the two days. He made 3 birdies and led his playing field with the lowest scoring average (75). Second-place finisher was Jacob Hoyle of Simpsonville made 152 strokes to finish at +8. Chase Cheatham of Lincolnton, North Carolina made 158 strokes resulting in a +14 finish that allowed him to place third.
Boys 11-13

Jake Dalton of Gillsville, Georgia had a successful weekend after winning the Ernie Els Boys 11-13 Division with his +14 finish. He led his playing field with the most birdies (6), the longest birdie or better streak (2), and the lowest scoring average (79). Charlotte, North Carolina’s Nate Gravender made 168 stokes for a +24 finish through the thirty-six holes to place second. Third-place finisher was Chuck Staley of Warrenville, South Carolina who completed the two rounds at +27.
Girls 14-18

Karly Falanga of Tequesta, Florida, walked away the champion in the Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18 Division as she completed the tournament at +4. She led her playing field with the most birdies (5) and the lowest scoring average (74). Patranit Chuaychoo placed second with her 154 strokes that resulted in a total of +10. Third-place finisher was Lindsey Hollis of Signal Mountain, Tennessee who made 160 strokes for a +16 finish through the thirty-six holes.
Girls U13
Boys 10 Under

Gray’s William Sanders was victorious with his +23 total through the thirty-six holes to win the Bryson DeChambeau Boys U10 Division. He led his playing field with the lowest Par 3 average (3.1) and the lowest scoring average (83.5). Second-place finisher, Christian Haskins of Johns Island, South Carolina, made 199 strokes for a +55 finish.

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.
The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
