Cog Hill Junior Championship

From July 17-18, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Cog Hill Junior Championship. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of five divisions that included the Boys 16-18 Division, Boys 14-15 Division, Boys 11-13 Division, Girls 14-18 Division, and Girls Under 13 Division.

Boys 16-18

Cog Hill Junior Championship

Alex Lilly from South Elgin, IL secured first place with a playoff sudden death victory. Lilly brought in scores of 75 and 68 for a combined total of 143 (+1) for the weekend. Drew Brasky from Mokena, IL was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 73 and 70 for a combined total of 143 (+1). Aidan Healy from New Lenox, IL finished the top three honors with scores of 75 and 72 for a weekend total of 147 (+5).

Boys 14-15

Cog Hill Junior Championship

Harrison Zipfel from University City, MO was the first-place finisher this weekend. Zipfel brought in scores of 69 and 72 for a combined total of 141 (-1) for the weekend. Nick Vilela from Washington, MO was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 76 and 77 for a combined total of 153 (+11). Zazael Arlan Atendido from Bensenville, IL finished the top three honors with scores of 81 and 73 for a weekend total of 154 (+12).

Carson Tribout from Belleville, IL was the first-place finisher this weekend. Tribout brought in scores of 70 and 75 for a combined total of 145 (+3) for the weekend. Lyoto Bellon from St. Louis, MO, Jacob Clark from Lebanon, MO, and William Cui from Lake Forest, IL all tied for second place with a score of 148 (+6). All three players brought in round scores of 75 and 73.

Kaylee Dwyer from Mokena, IL was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 72 and 75 for a combined total of 147 (+5). Keanna Keen from Brookfield, IL finished the top three honors with scores of 80 and 77 for a weekend total of 157 (+15).

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 8-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. The tour’s vision is to provide superb hospitality and make every event a memorable one. With play open to both males and females, nearly every junior golfer is eligible to participate on the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour. Currently the HJGT is the largest multi-day junior golf tour in the United States hosting more 2-day nationally ranked events than any other tour. The HJGT has been able to achieve this goal by running the most professional events and providing an exceptional value to all of our players and families over the last 14 years.

Based out of Orlando, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the country. In 2021, the HJGT will conduct events in Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Canada. Juniors will compete in 1 of 6 divisions which are: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys under 10, Girls 14-18, and Girls Under 13. Click here to view approximate yardages for each division. The HJGT season is based on a calendar year and players earn points throughout the season towards year end honors beginning December 31, 2021.
