From Saturday July 20th through Sunday July 21st, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Cog Hill Jr Champ. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of six divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Bryson DeChambeau boys 10 and Under, Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18 and Justin Rose Girl 13 and Under division.

Tiger Woods Boys 16-18

Cog Hill Junior Championship

Mark Noonan of Vernon Hills, IL was able to take home first place honors after a first round 69. Noonan had a total of 143 strokes for the weekend to win by a four-shot margin over his closest competitor. Phuphing Charana of Thailand had a weekend total of 147 to finish with solo runner-up honors. Ian Roach of Hennepin, IL and Davis Billows of Lockport, IL had weekend totals of 150 strokes and tie for third-place and round up the division.

Will Smith Boys 14-15

Cog Hill Junior Championship

Isaac Embry of Cown Point, IN took first place honors after a final round 74. Embry had a weekend total of 148 strokes in order to win by an eight-shot margin. Henry Reiland of Chicago, IL had a weekend total of 156 strokes to finish with solo runner-up honors. Rounding up the top three was Clark Nemer of Hudson, OH with a weekend total of 162 strokes to finish with solo third place honors.

Ernie Els 11-13

Cog Hill Junior Championship

Kevin Wesolowski of Hickory Hills, IL was able to seal his victory with a final round of 70 and a weekend total of 144 strokes. Wesolowski made 5 birdies over the weekend to win by an impressive margin over his closest competitor. Spencer Stuke of Delafield, WI shot a total of 154 shots and claimed solo runner-up honors with a final round 72. Rounding up the top-three was Edward Scott of Lemont, IL with a weekend total of 159 strokes to claim solo third-place honors.

Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18

Cog Hill Junior Championship

Apichaya Chirakunakorn of Thailand claimed first place honors after shooting a final round 74 to win by a margin of 3 strokes over her closest competitor. Chirakunakorn shot a total of 148 strokes and made 6 birdies over the weekend to win. Nilubol Panno of Thailand shot a weekend total of 151 to claim solo runner-up honors and a final round of 70. Rounding up the top-three was Rylee Heryford of Newton, IA with a weekend total of 161 strokes to claim third-place honors.

Justin Rose Girls U13

Cog Hill Junior Championship

Abigail Rich of Greenwood, IN claimed first place honors after shooting weekend rounds of 79 and 78 to win by an impressive margin over her closest competitor. Rich had a weekend total of 157 strokes to win. Victoria Cui had a total of 188 strokes to claim solo runner-up honors for the weekend and consistent rounds. Rounding up our top-three was Shyell Lowe of Plainfield, IL with a weekend total of 192 strokes and claim solo third-place honors.

Cog Hill Junior Championship

Sam Carraher of Crown Point, IN was able to seal his victory with a weekend total of 147 strokes. Carraher had a final round 69 to win by a six-shot marging over his closest competitor making 4 birdies the last day. Landon Snyder of Roanoke, IN claimed runner-up honors with a total of 153 shots for the weekend and a final round 74. Rounding up the top-three was William Cui of Lake Forest, IL with a total of 166 shots to claim solo third-place honors.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
