From Saturday July 6th through Sunday July 7th, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Coastal Carolina Summer Jr. Open. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of five divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15 ,Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18, and the Justin Rose Division Girls 13 and Under.
Aaron Pha of Myanmar took the lead after scoring a 74 on Saturday. Pha climbed to the top of the leaderboard on Sunday, with a round of66 the last day to win by a margin of 5 strokes. Tristan Galant of South Africa finished in second place with rounds of 72 and 73 with a weekend total of 145strokes. And rounding up the top three was Jantai Malataev of Almaty, FL with a weekend total of 147 shots and a 72 on Sunday.
Charlie Miller of Savannah, GA was able to seal his victory with rounds of 76 and 74 over the weekend, making 2birdies the last day to finish at a two-day total of 150 strokes. Aiden LeBlanc of Macungie, PA and Dallas Johnson of Mt. Pleasant, SC both claimed runner-up honors with weekend totals of 153 shots to round up our top-three.
Tag Graziano of Hilton Head, SC was able to seal his victory with a final round of 75. Gaziano made 2 birdies over the weekend to win by a 2-shot margin over his closest competitor. Jackson Cavanaugh of Newnan, GA shot a weekend total of 150 shots and claimed solo runner-up honors. Rounding up our top-three was Tyler Taber of Mt. Pleasant, SC with a weekend total of 151 strokes and claim solo third-place honors.
Mackenzie Gallagher of Orlando, FL was able to seal her victory with a final round of 70. Gallagher made 3 birdies the last day to win by a 3-shot margin over her closest competitor. Hyeonji Kang of Dubai shot a weekend total of 148 shots and claimed solo runner-up honors with consistent rounds of 74 over the weekend. Rounding up our top-three were Sierra Fink of Canton, GA and Chloe Pittman of Davidson, NC with weekend totals of 151strokes and claim third-place honors.
Sydney McClanahan of Bowling Green, KY show a weekend total of 190 strokes to claim victory. McClanahan was able to win by an impressive margin over her closest competitor. Following her was Elizabeth Adkisson of Greenwood, IN with a weekend total of 210 shots to finish with solo runner-up honors.
