From Saturday, March 2 – Sunday, March 3, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Coastal Carolina Junior Open at Blackmoor Country Club in Murrells Inlet, SC. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole, two-day format and the field was made from six divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Bryson DeChambeau Division Boys Under 10, Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18, and the Justin Rose Division Girls 13 and Under.
Tiger Woods Boys 16-18
Leading off the Tiger Woods Division this past weekend was Jack Catalano of Mount Pleasant, SC with 161 strokes. William Broughman of Conway, SC earned the second-place spot with 164 strokes. Rounding out the division was Logan Nerad of Charlotte, NC with 167 strokes.
Will Smith Boys 14-15
Rowan Sullivan of Charleston, SC was on his game this weekend and won first place in the Will Smith Division with 145 strokes. Evan Prickett of North Augusta, Sc and Owen Bright of Roanoke, VA finished in the top three with 155 and 159 strokes respectively.
Ernie Els 11-13
Dallas Johnson of Mount Pleasant, SC was the champion of the Ernie Els Division, as he finished out the weekend with a total of 150 strokes. Walker Felton of Mount Pleasant, SC earned the second-place spot with 158 strokes. Rounding out the podium was Richard Hearp of Salem, VA with 188 strokes.
Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18
In the Justin Timberlake Division, Lory Paradis of Blainville, Canada had 152 strokes this past weekend, causing her to capture the first-place title. Just two strokes behind her was Lexi Bennett of Santee, SC with 154 strokes. Jessica Shao of North Myrtle Beach, SC earned the final spot in the three with 161 strokes.
Justin Rose Girls U13
Karsyn Roberts of Pikeville, NC won first place in the Justin Rose Division with 162 strokes. Madison Messimer of Myrtle Beach, SC won second place with 167 strokes. Just three strokes behind her was Ella June Hannant of Pikeville, NC with 173 strokes.
Boys 10 Under
The Bryson DeChambeau Division was no match for Jack Skinner of Blacksburg, VA. He finished on top with a grand total of 168 strokes.
