From Saturday, June 22nd through Sunday June 23rd, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Chicago Summer Jr. Open. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of six divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Bryson DeChambeau Boys 10 and Under, Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18, and the Justin Rose Division Girls 13 and Under.

Chicago Summer Jr. Open

Ian Roach of Hennepin, IL took the lead after scoring a 74 on Saturday and remaining at the top of the leaderboard all weekend. Roach followed up his first-round score with an 72 on Sunday to win by a one-shot margin. Following him was Robert Cox Jr. of Oak Brook, IL with a weekend total of 147 strokes and rounds of 73-74. Rounding up our top-three was William Hulsey of Deerfield, IL with a weekend total of 159 shots.

Will Smith Boys 14-15

Chicago Summer Jr. Open

Michael Yesbeck of Middleton, WI took the lead after scoring an 81 the first day and remaining at the top of the leaderboard all weekend. Yesbeck followed up his first-round with an 84 on Sunday to win by a ten-shot margin. Following him was Zach Bergman of Lemont, IL with a weekend total of 175 strokes. Rounding up our top-three was Eli Stahl of West Des Moines, IA with a weekend total of 177 shots.

Ernie Els 11-13

Chicago Summer Jr. Open

Jimmy DeCillo of Glencoe, IL led the division with a weekend total of 164 strokes. DeCillo shot rounds of 84-80 to claim victory honors over his closest competitors. Following him was Nolan Adamczyk of Gilberts, INT with a weekend total of 174 shots and a final-round 85. Rounding up our top-three was Liam Lodding of Huntley, IL with a two-round total of 188 shots.

Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18

Chicago Summer Jr. Open

Mandi Granato of Plainfield, IL shot a two-day total of 155 strokes to take home first-place honors with weekend rounds of 77-78. Following her was Kendall Farm of Carol Stream, IL with a weekend total of 168 shots and rounds of 85-83 both days. Rounding up our top-three was Brooke Bayless St. Charles, IL with a weekend total of 173 shots.

Justin Rose Girls U13

Chicago Summer Jr. Open

Shyell Lowe of Plainfield, IL  shot a weekend total of 187 strokes to claim victory. Lowe finished with an 89 Sunday to win by a one-shot margin over her closest competitor. Following her was Amelia Tan of Hinsdale, IL with a weekend total of 188 shots claiming solo runner-up honors. Rounding up our top-three was Delaney Medlyn from Cary, IL with a weekend total of 189 strokes.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
