From Saturday, April 27 – Sunday, April 28, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Chattanooga Junior Open at WindStone Golf Club in Ringgold, GA. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole, two-day format and the field was made from four divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, and the Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18.
Staying consistent throughout the weekend allowed Ethan Shim of Alpharetta, GA to take home the gold in the Tiger Woods Division, as he finished with 146 strokes. Benjamin Burns of Signal Mountain, TN took home the silver with 153 strokes. Charlie Smith of Anniston, AL took home the final podium spot, as he finished one stroke shy of Burns.
Leading off the Will Smith Division was Haden Maxwell of Soddy Daisy, TN, with 156 strokes. Jack Leach of Jacksboro, TN earned the silver with 162 strokes. Collin Jones of Ooltewah, TN and Garrett Armbrust of Woodstock, GA each took home the bronze by finishing just two strokes shy of Leach.
John Brady Knight of Atlanta, GA was on fire this weekend, as he finished with 143 strokes to earn the top spot in the Ernie Els Division. Anthony Purcea of Buford, GA earned the silver with 149 strokes. Happy Gilmore of Bloomfield, IN earned the final podium spot with 156 strokes.
It was a tough race in the Justin Timberlake Division, but Sierra Fink of Canton, GA earned the top spot with 157 strokes. Mary Browder Howell of Murray, KY fell just one stroke behind her. Christina Surcey of Cartersville, GA rounded out the division with 161 strokes.
