Chattanooga Junior Open

On Saturday November 10 – Sunday November 11, 2018 The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Chattanooga Junior Open in Harrison, TN. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole, two-day format and the field was made from four divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Justin Rose Division Girls U13, and the Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18.

Tiger Woods Boys 16-18

Chattanooga Junior Open

Jonathan Xoinis captured the first-place finish at the Chattanooga Junior Open in the Tiger Woods Boys 16-18 division with a 2-day total of 145 (72-73). With solid play both days, Xoinis was able to hold off 2nd place finishers Demi Di Matteo and Cameron Tankersley by only 1 shot.

Will Smith Boys 14-15

Chattanooga Junior Open

In the Will Smith Boys 14-15 division, Sheldon McKnight took home first-place this weekend by shooting a 2-day total of 147. Solid play in the second round allowed McKnight to take victory over Brett Cooper who finished in second with a 2-day total of 153. Rounding out the division was Haden Maxwell who scored 157 to take home a solo third place finish.

Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18

Kyndall Shamblin ended up with the first-place finish in the Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18 Division by carding a total of 152 (75-77). With consistent rounds, Shamblin was able to hold off 2nd place finisher Rachel Burrell by 1 shot in a playoff.  Rounding out the division was Tori Owens who shot a 2-day total of 156 to claim 3rd place.

In the Justin Rose Girls U13 division, Ella Manley took home a solo first place victory with a two-day total of 161. Taking second place was Kylee Lynn who had a two-day total of 181 (91-90). Rounding out the division was Maya Hira with a total of 188 to claim a solo third place finish.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
