Chateau Elan Junior Shootout

From Saturday June 8ththrough Sunday June 9th, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Chateau Elan Jr. Shootout. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of five divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18, and the Justin Rose Division Girls 13 and Under.

Boys 16-18

Palmer Weaver claimed victory after shooting a 72 one over for the day. Palmer won by a one-shot margin over Jack Stafford since inclement weather shortened the tournament to a single round. Jack Stafford of Crandall, GA shot a 73 with 3 birdies to claim runner-up honors. And rounding up the top-three were Brady Edwards of Hiram, GA and Jacob Kephart of Nolensville, TN with rounds of 74 to tie for third-place honors.

Boys 14-15

Chateau Elan Junior Shootout

Aryan Kaila of Delhi, India shot a 70, 2 under for the day and won by a six shot margin over his closest competitor. Brett Cooper of Hixson, TN shot a 76 with a birdie on hole 10 to claim runner-up honors. And rounding up the top-three was Jeb McDonald who tied Cooper with a 76 as well and a birdie on hole number 5.

Jackson Cavanaugh of Newnan, GA shot 76 for the day to win by a one-shot margin over his closest competitor making two birdies. Ethan Coffield of Hamilton, GA shot a 77 with a birdie on hole 10 to claim runner-up honors. And rounding up the top-three was Parth Kumar of Suwanee, GA with a 79 for the day and a birdies on 15 to claim solo third-place honors.

Girls 14-18

Chateau Elan Junior Shootout

Michelle Zhou of Southlake, TX shot an impressive 67, four under for the day and win by a three-shot margin. Alexandria Kantor of Milton GA shot a 72 with 3 birdies to claim runner-up honors. And rounding up the top-three was Aleks Golde of Atlanta, GA with a 76 for the tournament to claim third-place honors with four birdies.

Chateau Elan Junior Shootout

Camryn Coffield of Hamilton, GA shot an 80 on the shortened tournament to claim first-place with a one shot margin over her closest competitor. Zoe Duval of Cumming, GA shot an 81 with a birdie on hole 8 to claim solo runner-up honors for the weekend.  And rounding up our top-three was Elle Marie Reisner of Atlanta, GA with an 87 for the day to claim third-place.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 8-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. The tour’s vision is to provide superb hospitality and make every event a memorable one. With play open to both males and females, nearly every junior golfer is eligible to participate on the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour. Currently the HJGT is the largest multi-day junior golf tour in the United States hosting more 2-day nationally ranked events than any other tour. The HJGT has been able to achieve this goal by running the most professional events and providing an exceptional value to all of our players and families over the last 14 years.

Based out of Orlando, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the country. In 2021, the HJGT will conduct events in Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Canada. Juniors will compete in 1 of 6 divisions which are: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys under 10, Girls 14-18, and Girls Under 13. Click here to view approximate yardages for each division. The HJGT season is based on a calendar year and players earn points throughout the season towards year end honors beginning December 31, 2021.
