From January 28-29, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Charleston Kickoff at Wild Dunes. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of five divisions that included the Boys 16-18 Division, Boys 14-15 Division, Boys 11-13 Division, Girls 14-18 Division, and Girls Under 13 Division.
Boys 16-18

Ty O’Brien from Myrtle Beach, SC was the first-place finisher this weekend. O’Brien brought in scores of 71 and 80 for a combined total of 151 for the weekend. Parker Etzel from Eau Claire, WI and Caleb Itzoe from Phoenix, MD both ended the weekend as runner-ups. Etzel’s scores of 80 and 75 and Itzoe’s scores of 81 and 74 tied for a combined score of 155. Julian Gretz from Bargteheide, Germany finished the top three honors with scores of 78 and 80 for a weekend total of 158.
Boys 14-15

Alex (AJ) Dietrich from Mt. Pleasant, SC was the first-place finisher this weekend. Dietrich brought in scores of 81 and 72 for a combined total of 153 for the weekend. Daniel Song from Seoul, Republic of Korea was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 84 and 77 for a combined total of 161. Brookman Tyrer from Franklin, TN finished the top three honors with scores of 86 and 78 for a weekend total of 164.
Boys 11-13

Timothy Delzer from Grand Blanc, MI was the first-place finisher this weekend. Delzer brought in scores of 93 and 85 for a combined total of 178 for the weekend.
Girls 14-18

Akiera Sanchez from Goose Creek, SC was the first-place finisher this weekend. Sanchez brought in scores of 82 and 80 for a combined total of 162 for the weekend. Anna Coccia from Gahanna, OH and Campbell Drum from Terrace Park, OH both finished the weekend as runner-ups. Coccia’s 89 and 91 and Drum’s 81 and 99 tied for a combined total of 180. Ava Kaplan from Mt. Pleasant, SC finished the top three honors with scores of 98 and 90 for a weekend total of 188.
Girls U13

Arley Jennings from Spartanburg, SC was the first-place finisher this weekend. Jennings brought in scores of 91 and 89 for a combined total of 180 for the weekend. Julia Gressette from Summerville, SC was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 103 and 100 for a combined total of 203.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour
The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 8-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. The tour’s vision is to provide superb hospitality and make every event a memorable one. With play open to both males and females, nearly every junior golfer is eligible to participate on the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour. Currently the HJGT is the largest multi-day junior golf tour in the United States hosting more 2-day nationally ranked events than any other tour. The HJGT has been able to achieve this goal by running the most professional events and providing an exceptional value to all of our players and families over the last 14 years.
Based out of Orlando, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the country. In 2021, the HJGT will conduct events in Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Canada. Juniors will compete in 1 of 6 divisions which are: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys under 10, Girls 14-18, and Girls Under 13. Click here to view approximate yardages for each division.
