ChampionsGate Junior Open

From January 11th to the 12th the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the ChampionsGate Junior Open. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of five divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18, and Justin Rose Division Girls Under 13.

Aaron Williams from Owings Mills, MD was the first-place finisher this weekend. Williams brought in scores of 78 and 79 for a combined total of 157 for the weekend. Matt Williams from Hingham, MA was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 85 and 74 for a combined total of 159. Egor Zubov from Moscow, Russia finished the top three honors with scores of 85 and 76 for a weekend total of 161.

Will Smith Boys 14-15

ZhengYi Liu from Bradenton, FL was able to seal his victory by ending the weekend with scores of 82 and 77 for a combined total of 159. Raphael Morgue d’Algue from Winter Garden, FL as the runner up with scores of 85 and 78 for a 163 weekend total. Feanor Valaquenta from Bradenton, FL and Preston Worch from Rockville, MD tied this weekend to round out the top three honors. They both ended the weekend with a combinded score of 171.

Jia Wei Li from Hai Nan, China was the first-place finisher this weekend. Jia Wei brought in scores of 82 and 75 for a combined score of 157. Ryan Enrui Xie from Orlando, FL was the second-place finisher with scores of 81 and 78 for a total of 159. To round out the top three was Diego Alvarez Perez from Panama. Alvarez Perez ended the weekend with scores of 82 and 78 for a total of 160.

Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18

EunJeong Choi from Winter Garden, FL was the top finisher with impressive scores of 79 and 72 for a 151 weekend finish. Kyungeu Kim from Winter Garden, FL was the second place finisher for  this weekend. Kim shot a 77 and a 76 for a weekend totoal of 153. Loa Johannsson from ChampionsGate, FL rounded out the top three with scores of 82 and 76 for a weekend total of 158.

Junyuan Zhang from Hai Nan, China was the top finisher for the Justin Rose division with scores of 75 and 72 a weekend total of 147. Sammy Chao from Orlando, FL was the second-place finisher with scores of 77 and 78 for a total of 155. To round out the top three was Greta Gobezie from Chagrin Falls, OH. Gobezie ended the weekend with scores of 82 and 83 for a total of 165.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
