Central Tennessee Junior Open

On Saturday October 13 – Sunday October 14, 2018 The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Central Tennessee Junior Open in Murfreesboro, TN. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole, two-day format and the field was made from six divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, and the Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18.

Tiger Woods Boys 16-18

Central Tennessee Junior Open

Robert Davidson captured the first-place finish at the Central Tennessee Junior Open in the Tiger Woods Boys 16-18 division with a 2-day total of 143 (74-69). With solid play both days, Davidson was able to hold off Devin Speight and Jonathan Xoinis by only 8 shots having them tie for second.

Will Smith Boys 14-15

Central Tennessee Junior Open

In the Will Smith Boys 14-15 division AJ Rinehart took home first place this weekend in shooting a 2-day total of 160. Solid play in the second round allowed Rinehart to take victory over Zane Penny who totaled 161 only 1 shot behind Rinehart placing him in second. Rounding out the division was Carson Johnson who had a two-day total of 167.

Ernie Els 11-13

Central Tennessee Junior Open

Maddox Crowder did not disappoint in the Ernie Els boys 11-13 division as he carded rounds of 76-70 to win in his division over Lofton McRee who carded rounds of 70-79 to claim 2nd place. Josh Phillips shot a 2-day total of 163 (81-82) to take a solo 3rd place finish.

Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18

Central Tennessee Junior Open

Sadie Pan ended up with the first-place finish in the Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18 Division by carding a total of 150 (79-71). With consistent rounds, Pan was able to hold off Mackenzie Morton by 1 shot and claiming 2nd place. Rounding out the division was Connor Geralds and Trinity Beth who each shot a 2-day total of 157 to tie for 3rd place.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
