Central New Jersey Junior Open

On Saturday September 8 – Sunday September 9, 2018 The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Central New Jersey Junior Open at Westlake G&CC in Jackson, NJ. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole, two-day format and the field was made from six divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Bryson Dechambeau Division Boys U10, Justin Rose Division Girls U13 and the Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18.

Tiger Woods Boys 16-18

Central New Jersey Junior Open

Dalton Van Esselstyn captured the first-place finish at the Central New Jersey Junior Open in the Tiger Woods Boys 16-18 division with a 2-day total of 151 (76-75). With solid play both days, Esselstyn was able to hold off Matthew Lafond by only 1 shot. Stephen Lorenzo rounded out the division with the 3rd place finish shooting a 2-day total of 154 (75-79).

Will Smith Boys 14-15

Central New Jersey Junior Open

In the Will Smith Boys 14-15 division Colin Hickey of Bronxville, NY took home first place this weekend in shooting a 2-day total of 153. Solid play in the second round allowed Hickey to take victory over Isaiah Marseille who finished second with a 2-day total of 159. Rounding out the division was Rohan Sikand of Colts Neck, New Jersey who finished 3 shots behind Marseille to claim a 3rd place finish.

Ernie Els 11-13

Central New Jersey Junior Open

Derek Gutierrez of Cranford, NJ did not disappoint in the Ernie Els boys 11-13 division as he carded rounds of 76-77 to win in his division over Giancarlo DiLeo who carded rounds of 81-77 to claim 2nd place. Maximus Liu of Warren, NJ who shot a 2-day total of 165 (79-86) to take a solo 3rd place finish.

Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18

Central New Jersey Junior Open

Angelina Tolentino ended up with the first-place finish in the Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18 Division by carding a total of 158(80-78). With consistent rounds, Tolentino was able to hold off Julia McLaughlin by 1 shot and claiming 2nd place. Rounding out the division was Taylor Oberparleiter and Camille O’Halloran who shot a 2-day total of 161 to claim a 3rd place tie.

Justin Rose Girls U13

Central New Jersey Junior Open

In the Justin Rose Girls U13 division Gianna Clemente of Warren, OH took home the victory with firing a 2-day total of 142. Kiera Bartholomew followed behind with shooting a 2-day total of 155 to take a solo 2nd finish. Rounding out the division is Renna Chang who finished with a 2-day total of 171.

Boys 10 Under

Central New Jersey Junior Open

Joe Louzan did not disappoint in the Bryson Dechambeau boys U10 division as he carded rounds of 110-110 to win in his division over Joseph Louzan who carded rounds of 121-118 to claim 2nd place with a total of 239.

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
