Central Florida Spring Junior Open

From April 23rd-24th, 2022, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Central Florida Spring Junior Open. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of four divisions that included the Boys 16-18 Division, Boys 14-15 Division, Boys 11-13 Division, and Girls 14-18 Division.

Boys 16-18

Gavin Clutts from Hazard, KY was the first-place finisher this weekend. Clutts brought in scores of 72 and 80 for a combined total of 152 for the weekend. Jimmy King from Wesley Chapel, FL was the runner-up this weekend with scores of 75 and 78 for a combined total of 153. Sean Majewski from Longwood, FL finished with top three honors with scores of 77 and 78 for a weekend total of 155.

Boys 14-15

Alexander Rowland from Nassau, Bahamas was the first-place finisher this weekend. Rowland brought in scores of 72 and 74 for a combined total of 146 for the weekend. Jordan Paulshock from Wesley Chapel, FL was the runner-up this weekend with scores of 87 and 86 for a combined total of 173. Walker Faust from Greenville, SC finished with top three honors with scores of 83 and 91 for a weekend total of 174.

Nicholas Johnson from Bella Collina, FL was the first-place finisher this weekend. Johnson brought in scores of 87 and 79 for a combined total of 166 for the weekend. Kerrington Rolle from Nassau, New Providence, Bahamas, and Hecheng (Aaron) Yuan from Orlando, FL tied for runner-up this weekend with scores of 88 and 79, and 85 and 82, respectively, for a combined total of 167 each.

Holly McLean from Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands was the first-place finisher this weekend after beating Abigail Fernandez in a playoff match. McLean brought in scores of 81 and 77 for a combined total of 158 for the weekend. Abigail Fernandez from Windermere, FL was the runner-up this weekend after the playoff match with scores of 81 and 77 for a combined total of 158. Mattea Issa from Kingston, Jamaica finished with top three honors with scores of 82 and 80 for a weekend total of 162.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 8-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. The tour’s vision is to provide superb hospitality and make every event a memorable one. With play open to both males and females, nearly every junior golfer is eligible to participate on the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour. Currently the HJGT is the largest multi-day junior golf tour in the United States hosting more 2-day nationally ranked events than any other tour. The HJGT has been able to achieve this goal by running the most professional events and providing an exceptional value to all of our players and families over the last 14 years.

Based out of Orlando, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the country. In 2021, the HJGT will conduct events in Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Canada. Juniors will compete in 1 of 6 divisions which are: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys under 10, Girls 14-18, and Girls Under 13. Click here to view approximate yardages for each division. The HJGT season is based on a calendar year and players earn points throughout the season towards year end honors beginning December 31, 2021.
