Central Florida Spring Break Junior Open

From March 11-12, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Central Florida Spring Break Junior Open. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of six divisions that included the Boys 16-18 Division, Boys 14-15 Division, Boys 11-13 Division, Boys Under 10 Division,  Girls 14-18 Division, and Girls Under 13 Division.

Boys 16-18

Central Florida Spring Break Junior Open

David Lafreniere from Ottawa, Canada was the first-place finisher this weekend. Lafreniere brought in scores of 75 and 68 for a combined total of 143 for the weekend. Noah Farland from Andover, MA was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 75 and 68 for a combined total of 143. Lafreniere defeated Farland in a playoff. Alexander Rowland from Albany, Bahamas and Max Silverman from Old Westbury, NY tied to finish out the top three honors for the weekend. Rowland’s scores of 75 and 69 tied Silverman’s scores of 72 on both days. They both finished the weekend with a total of 144.

Central Florida Spring Break Junior Open

Darren Zhou from Hong Kong, Hong Kong was the first-place finisher this weekend. Zhou brought in scores of 65 and 73 for a combined total of 138 for the weekend. Yuma Nemoto from Chiba, Japan was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 71 and 69 for a combined total of 140. Jiacheng Xu from Winter Garden, FL finished the top three honors with scores of 68 and 73 for a weekend total of 141.

Ryan Liu from Manhasset, NY was the first-place finisher this weekend. Liu brought in scores of 74 and 75 for a combined total of 149 for the weekend. Nicholas Johnson from Bella Collina, FL was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 73 and 78 for a combined total of 151. Joshua Chang from Auburn, AL finished the top three honors with scores of 76 and 79 for a weekend total of 155.

Amelie Zalsman from Albany, Bahamas was the first-place finisher this weekend. Zalsman brought in scores of 70 and 71 for a combined total of 141 for the weekend. Kyrstine Basteiro from Orlando, Spain was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 73 and 68 for a combined total of 141. Zalsman defeated Basteiro in a playoff. Caroline Pardue from Murfreesboro, TN finished the top three honors with scores of 74 and 71 for a weekend total of 145.

Tiffany Park from Las Vegas, NV was the first-place finisher this weekend. Park brought in scores of 74 and 80 for a combined total of 154 for the weekend. Mila Zalsman from New Providence, Bahamas was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 78 and 78 for a combined total of 156. Catherine Lily Chen from Winter Garden, FL finished the top three honors with scores of 85 and 80 for a weekend total of 165.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 8-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. The tour’s vision is to provide superb hospitality and make every event a memorable one. With play open to both males and females, nearly every junior golfer is eligible to participate on the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour. Currently the HJGT is the largest multi-day junior golf tour in the United States hosting more 2-day nationally ranked events than any other tour. The HJGT has been able to achieve this goal by running the most professional events and providing an exceptional value to all of our players and families over the last 14 years.

Based out of Orlando, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the country. In 2021, the HJGT will conduct events in Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Canada. Juniors will compete in 1 of 6 divisions which are: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys under 10, Girls 14-18, and Girls Under 13. Click here to view approximate yardages for each division. The HJGT season is based on a calendar year and players earn points throughout the season towards year end honors beginning December 31, 2021.
