Central Florida Junior Open

From February 26th-27th, 2022, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Central Florida Junior Open. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of six divisions that included the Boys 16-18 Division, Boys 14-15 Division, Boys 11-13 Division, Boys Under 10 Division, Girls 14-18 Division, and Girls Under 13 Division.

Boys 16-18

Central Florida Junior Open

Eric Zhao from Toronto, Canada was the first-place finisher this weekend. Zhao brought in scores of 70 and 73 for a weekend total of 143. Seungbae Kong from Champions Gate, FL and Taehoon Park from Soeul, FL tied for runner-up this weekend each with a score of 72 both rounds for a combined total of 144 each.

Xin Wang from Bradenton, China was the first-place finisher this weekend. Wang brought in scores of 72 and 71 for a combined total of 143 for the weekend. Qi Liu from Lake Mary, FL was the runner-up this weekend with scores of 74 and 72 for a combined total of 146. Mingbo Jiang from Orlando, FL, and Payu Wittawatolarn from Bangkok, Thailand tied for top three honors this weekend with scores of 71 and 78, and 76 and 73, respectively, for a combined total of 149 each.

William Lisle from Tai Tam, Hong Kong was the first-place finisher this weekend. Lisle brought in scores of 74 and 69 for a combined total of 143 for the weekend. Darren Zhou from Hong Kong, Hong Kong was the runner-up this weekend with scores of 71 and 74 for a combined total of 145. Nicklaus Downing from Windermere, FL, and Brayden Jones from Seal Beach, CA tied for top three honors this weekend with scores of 72 and 75, and 74 and 73, respectively, for a combined total of 147 each.

Yoo Min Byun from Bradenton, FL was the first-place finisher this weekend. Byun brought in scores of 69 and 72 for a combined total of 141 for the weekend. Junyuan Zhang from Orlando, FL was the runner-up this weekend with scores of 72 and 70 for a combined total of 142. Lily Zhang from Buffalo, NY finished top three honors this weekend with scores of 74 and 72 for a combined total of 146.

Ava Zhang from Lake Mary, FL was the first-place finisher this weekend. Zhang brought in scores of 76 and 75 for a combined total of 151 for the weekend. Alexia Lordanov from St. Augustine, FL was the runner-up this weekend with scores of 83 and 80 for a combined total of 163. Ella Scott from Castle Rock, CO finished top three honors this weekend with scores of 84 and 83 for a combined total of 167.

Lucas Lu from Orlando, FL was the first-place finisher this weekend. Lu brought in scores of 78 and 81 for a combined total of 159 for the weekend. Avery Li from Windermere, FL finished top three honors this weekend with scores of 87 and 86 for a combined total of 173.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 8-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. The tour’s vision is to provide superb hospitality and make every event a memorable one. With play open to both males and females, nearly every junior golfer is eligible to participate on the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour. Currently the HJGT is the largest multi-day junior golf tour in the United States hosting more 2-day nationally ranked events than any other tour. The HJGT has been able to achieve this goal by running the most professional events and providing an exceptional value to all of our players and families over the last 14 years.

Based out of Orlando, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the country. In 2021, the HJGT will conduct events in Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Canada. Juniors will compete in 1 of 6 divisions which are: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys under 10, Girls 14-18, and Girls Under 13. Click here to view approximate yardages for each division. The HJGT season is based on a calendar year and players earn points throughout the season towards year end honors beginning December 31, 2021.
