On Saturday September 1 – Monday September 3, 2018 The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Canongate Series #8 at White Oak Golf Club in Newnan, GA. The tournament was made up of a 54-hole, three-day format and the field was made from four divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, and the Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18.

Tiger Woods Boys 16-18

Canongate Series #8

Jonathon Tark of Macon, GA captured the first-place finish at the Canongate Series #8 in the Tiger Woods Boys 16-18 division with a 3-day total of 226 (74-77). With solid play all three days, Tark was able to hold off Ben Fey of Woodstock, GA by 5 shots. Joey Collins from McDonough,GA rounded out the division with the 3rd place finish shooting a 3-day total of 232 (75-76).

Will Smith Boys 14-15

Canongate Series #8

In the Will Smith Boys 14-15 division, Mason Dean of Duluth, GA took home first place this weekend in shooting a 3-day total of 232.  Solid play in the second round allowed Dean to take victory over Carson Johnson, who finished second with a 3-day total of 239. Rounding out the division was AJ Ford of Atlanta, GA who finished 8 shots behind Johnson to claim a 3rd place finish.

Ernie Els 11-13

Wesley Hu from Savannah, GA did not disappoint in the Ernie Els boys 11-13 division as he carded rounds of 79-75 to win in his division over Aaron Stocks of Perry, GA who carded rounds of 75-78 to claim 2nd place. Behind Stocks was Will Coffman of Sharpsburg who shot a 3-day total of 239(80-81) to take a solo 3rd place finish.

Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18

Aleks Golde ended up with the first-place finish in the Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18 Division by carding a total of 230 (78-76). With consistent rounds, Golde was able to hold off Sarah Hsu of Buford, GA by 7 shots and claiming 2nd place. Rounding out the division was Liza Eubanks of Peachtree city, GA who shot a 3-day total of 239 to claim a 3rd place finish.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
