From Saturday July 13ththrough Sunday July 14th, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Canongate Series #5. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of four divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, and Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18.
Tiger Woods Boys 16-18
Tucker Sutton of Fayetteville, GA claimed victory honors with a weekend total of 148 shots. Sutton was able to win by a two shot margin over his closest competitor with 3 birdies and an eagle over the weekend and a final round 75. Following him was Jackson Grunden of Fayetteville, GA with a weekend total of 150 strokes to claim solo runner-up honors. Rounding up the top-three were Sam Brummett of Newnan, GA. Zach Vaniman of Marietta, GA and Trey Rouse of Homewood, AL with weekend totals of 151 strokes and claim third-place honors.
Will Smith Boys 14-15
Aren Patel of Alapharetta, GA shot a weekend total of 155 shots to claim victory honors. Patel shot rounds of 79 and 76 to win by a one-shot margin over his closest competitor. Following him was Ben Shelton of Atlanta, GA with a weekend total of 156 shots to claim solo runner-up honor.s Rounding up the top three were Tristan Mayhand of Phenix City, AL and William Baker of Atlanta, GA with weekend totals of 165 strokes for third place honors.
Ernie Els 11-13
Daniel McHugh from St. Simons Island, GA was our lone competitor for the division, with a weekend total of 177 shots he was able to seal his victory for the tournament. Making two birdies over the weekend, McHugh shot consistent weekend rounds.
Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18
Elise Schultz of Milton, FL claimed first place honors after shooting a last round 71 to win by a margin of 5 strokes over her closest competitor. Schultz shot a total of 144 strokes and made 11 birdies over the weekend to win. Liza Eubanks of Peachtree City, GA shot a total of 149 strokes to claim solo runner-up honors. Rounding up the top three was Faith Scott of Columbus, GA with a total of 150 shots to claim solo third-place honors.
