Canongate Series #5

On Saturday, July 14 – Sunday, July 15, 2018, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour hosted the Canongate Series #5 in Peachtree City, Georgia. The two-day, thirty-six-hole tournament held at the Braelinn Golf Club consisted of players from all six of our divisions, including the Tiger Woods Boys 16-18 Division, Will Smith Boys 14-15 Division, Ernie Els Boys 11-13 Division, Bryson DeChambeau Boys U10 Division, Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18 Division, and the Justin Rose Girls U13 Division.

Tiger Woods Boys 16-18

Canongate Series #5

Jack Stein of Montego Bay captured the title in the Tiger Woods Boys 16-18 Division with his two-day total of -1. He led his playing field with the lowest scoring average of 71.5. Second-place finisher was Brooks Gineris of McDonough, Georgia who shot 145 strokes to result in a +1 finish. Nicholas Gibson of Duluth, Georgia finished in third-place at +2 with 146 strokes and the most birdies in his playing field with 11.

Will Smith Boys 14-15

Canongate Series #5

In the Will Smith Boys 14-15 Division, it was Peachtree City native, Ryan Mowry who was victorious as he finish the thirty-six holes at +8. He made 1 birdie and led his playing field with the lowest scoring average (76). As for second-place, there was a tie between Hagen Marion (Zebulon, GA) and Ryan Grizzard (Cumming, GA) as they each made 154 strokes for a +10 finish.

Ernie Els 11-13

Canongate Series #5

Hudson Wilt of Nashville, Tennessee claimed the first-place trophy in the Ernie Els Boys 11-13 Division with his +2 finish. He led his playing field with the lowest scoring average (73) and the most birdies (8). Second-place finisher was Will Coffman of Sharpsburg who made 149 strokes for a +5 finish. Nicklaus Cook of Enterprise, Alabama shot 151 strokes which resulted in his +7 finish for third-place.

Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18

Canongate Series #5

Peachtree City native, Liza Eubanks completed the thirty-six holes at +3 to secure the first-place title in the Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18 Division. She led her playing field with the lowest scoring average (73.5), the most birdies (6), and the longest birdie or better streak (2). Ashley Jian of Johns Creek, Georgia made 161 strokes which resulted in a +17 finish to secure second-place. Third-place finisher was Morgan Collins of Bremen, Georgia who made 162 through the thirty-six holes to end the weekend at +18.

Justin Rose Girls U13

Canongate Series #5

In the Justin Rose Girls U13 Division, Ebby Somers of Valdosta, Georgia secured the win with her +8 total at the end of the two-day tournament. She made 2 birdies and led her playing field with the lowest scoring average of 76. Second-place finisher was Zoe Duval of Cumming, Georgia whose 165 strokes resulted in a +21 finish. Ella Manley of Calhoun, Georgia finished third with her +23 finish with 167 strokes.

Boys 10 Under

Canongate Series #5

It was Cole Rosich of Locust Grove who captured the victory in the Bryson DeChambeau Boys U10 Division with his +33 total through the two-day tournament. He led his playing field with the lowest Par 3 average (3.2) and the lowest scoring average (88.5). Second-place finisher was Andrew Couey of Johns Creek, GA who made 182 strokes for a +38 finish.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
