From Saturday, May 25th through Monday, May 27th, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Canongate Series #4 at Sharpsburg, GA. The tournament was made up of a 54-hole format with a field of six divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13,Bryson DeChambeau Division Boys 10 and Under, Justin Timberlake Division Girls14-18, and the Justin Rose Division Girls 13 and Under.
Cole Bergman of Atlanta, GA took the first-round lead after scoring an outstanding 70 and remaining at the top of the leaderboard all weekend. Bergman followed up his exceptional first-round score with rounds of 73 and 70 on Sunday and Monday respectively for three-shot victory over Andrew Swanson of Bluffton, SC. Swanson finished in second place after shooting a three-round total of 216 with an impressive final round 68. And rounding up the top-three was Felix Van Kleef with a three-day total of 218 and a final day round of 70.
Rob Ferris of Roswell, GA shot a three-day total of 223 to take an early lead and remain in contention through Monday, winning with a two-stroke margin over his closest competitor. Closing out the week with a 74 on Monday, Ferris was able to take home the hardware. Runner-up Garrett Armbrust from Woodstock, GA shot a three-day total of 225 to take solo second-place honors with a final-round 71. Rounding up the top-three for the division was Dino Sposato of Bishop, GA with a total of 232 for the week.
Jackson Cavannaugh of Newnan, GA led the Ernie Els Boys Division with a 228 three-round total to take the lead with a first-round 77 and remain in contention the rest of the week. Cavannaugh closed out his three-day total with an outstanding 75 and 76 on Sunday and Monday respectively. Following his lead, Will Coffman of Palmetto, GA finished with a 232 three-round total to take runner-up honors. And finishing up the top-three Anthony Purcea of Buford, GA with a total of 236 strokes for the week.
Eryn Blakeley of St. Michael, Barbados shot a stellar three-day total of 246 to take home first-place honors with a twenty-three-shot victory over her closest competitor. Blakeley finished her week with an 80 on Monday to seal her victory. Following her was Lizzie Hamilton of Fayetteville, GA with a three-day total of 269 and claim runner-up honors.
Kate Ha of Auburn, AL shot a stellar 75 the first day and lead the division all weekend with a three-shot margin. Ha was able to seal the victory and take home first-place honors. Following her was Camryn Coffield of Hamilton, GA with a three-day total of 235 and claimed solo runner-up honors for the week.
Boys 10 Under
William Kilborn of Atlanta, GA lead the way in the Boys 10 and Under division with a total of 266 for the week. Shooting an 87 the second round and being the lone competitor in this division, Kilborn was able to take first place honors for the week.
