From Saturday, February 23 - Sunday, February 24, 2019, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Canongate Series #1 at Canongate 1 Golf Club in Sharpsburg, GA. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole, two-day format and the field was made up of five divisions that included the Tiger Woods Boys 16-18, Will Smith Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Boys 11-13, Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18, and the Justin Rose Girls 13 and Under Division. The Tiger Woods Boys 16-18 Division came down to the wire, and after a tie-breaker for first between Anmol Jhangra of Lawrenceville, GA and Charlie Creamean of Winnetka, IL, we had ourselves a winner, Anmol Jhangra. He finished his first round shooting a 71 and ended his tournament with a two-day total of 147. Mason Dean of Duluth, GA took the third spot on the podium with a two-day total of 151.
The Will Smith Boys 14-15 Division was a very tight race. The leader of the pack was Garrett Armbrust of Woodstock, GA who shot a 160 over the span of the tournament. In second and one stroke off the leader was Glover Amick of Atlanta, GA. The final spot belonged to Andrew Kim of Alpharetta, GA who shot a 162.
The Ernie Els Boys 11-13 Division showed some very familiar faces on the leaderboard. First was John Brady Knight of Atlanta, GA who shot an impressive 74 and 78 respectively. Behind him was Will Coffman of Sharpsburg, GA who finished his tournament with a 154. Rounding out the division was Ethan Coffield of Hamilton, GA who finished with a solid score of 157.
The Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18 Division proved to be a close one, as the gap between first and third place was only four strokes. The top of the podium belonged to Eujin Pyon of Macon, GA who shot a 78 and 75 for a two-day total of 153. Second place belonged to Gianna Clemente of Warren, OH who shot a consecutive 78 each day for a solid 156 strokes total. Just a stroke off the second place finisher was Reagan Southerland of Atlanta, GA with a 157.
The Justin Rose Girls U13 Division also included some familiar names from past tournaments. In first place shooting an 82 and 87 was Camryn Coffield of Hamilton, GA. Behind her was Elle Marie Reisner who finished her two-day tournament shooting a 184. In third place was Alisa Pressley who kept things consistent with a 95 each day of the tournament.
