Cannongate Series #9

From September 14thto 15th, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Cannongate #9 at Whitewater Creek Country Club. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of five divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Bryson DeChambeau Division Boys Under 10,  Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18, and Justin Rose Division Girls Under 13.

Cannongate Series #9

Nicholas Gibson from Duluth, Georgia was the first-place finisher this weekend. Gibson brought in scores of 78 and 76 for a combined total of 154 for the weekend. Tucker Sutton and Parker Shelnutt from Fayetville, Georgia and Newnan, Georgia were the runner ups for the weekend with scores of 82 and 78 for a combined total of 160 and scores of 79 and 81 for a total of 160. Avery Arasin from Marietta, Georgia finished the top three honors with scores of 81 and 81 for a weekend total of 162

Will Smith Boys 14-15

Cannongate Series #9

Renato Gerena Jr., from Peachtree City, Georgia was able to seal his victory by ending the weekend with scores of 77 and 77 for a combined total of 153. Wade Watson and Cole Humphrey from Peachtree Corners, Georgia and McDonough, Georgia were the runner ups with scores of 81 and 73 for a 154 and 80 and 74 for a weekend total of 154. William Stelt from Auburn, Alabama finished the top three honors with scores of 87 and 76 for a weekend total of 163.

Ernie Els 11-13

Cannongate Series #9

Ethan Coffieldfrom Hamilton, Georgia was the first-place finisher this weekend. Coffield brought in scores of 80 and 74 with a combined score of 154. Peter Sposato from Bishop, Georgia was the second-place finisher with scores of 83 and 85 for a total of 168. To round out the top three was Andrew Couey from Jonhs Creek, Georgia. Couey ended the weekend with scores of 90 and 91 for a total of 181.

Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18

Cannongate Series #9

Ally Buchanan from Athens, Georgia was the top finisher with impressive scores of 83 and 80 for a 163 weekend finish. Rachel Camp from Fayetville, Georgia took home the runner up title with scores of 84 and 86 for a weekend total of 170. Amelia Myers from Martinez, Georgia rounded out the top three with scores of 91 and 80 a combined total of 171.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
