From Saturday July 20ththrough Sunday July 21st, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Canada Junior Championship. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of six divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Bryson DeChambeau boys 10 and Under, Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18 and Justin Rose Girl 13 and Under division.

Boys 16-18

Canada Junior Open

Ty Stansfield was able to take home first place honors after a first round 68. Stansfield had a total of 145 strokes for the weekend to win by a six-shot margin over his closest competitor. Nicolas Dessureault had a first round 76 on Saturday to finish at a total of 151 strokes and claim solo runner-up honors. Rounding up the top-three was Wyatt Seilkop with a total of 154 strokes to claim third-place honors.

Boys 14-15

Canada Junior Open

Ethan Szabo was able to seal his victory with rounds of 77 both days, making 3 birdies over the weekend to finish at a two-day total of 154 strokes. Sai Kaja claimed runner-up honors with a total of 161 shots for the weekend. Rounding up the top three was Aleksander Perak with a weekend total of 166 strokes for third place honors.

Canada Junior Open

Andreas Diogenous was able to seal his victory with a final round of 73 and a weekend total of 153 strokes. Diogenous made a birdie the last day to win by an impressive margin over his closest competitor. Ty Werynski shot a total of 164 shots and claimed solo runner-up honors for the division. Rounding up the top-three was Angad Manaise with a weekend total of 172 stroked to claim solo third-place honors.

Canada Junior Open

Nadia Poncy claimed first place honors after shooting a last round 72 to win by a margin of 9 strokes over her closest competitor. Poncy shot a total of 152 strokes and 2 birdies the last day to win. Peyton Costabile shot a total of 161 strokes to claim solo runner-up honors and round up the division.

Girls U13

Canada Junior Open

Lily Zhang claimed first place honors after shooting weekend rounds of 73 and 72 to win by a one shot margin over her closest competitor. Zhang had a weekend total of 142 strokes and 4 birdies the last day to win. Alexa Ouellet had a total of 146 strokes to claim solo runner-up honors for the weekend with a first round 71. Rounding up our top-three was Michelle Ding with a weekend total of 153 strokes.

Canada Junior Open

Gabriel Yazdani was able to seal his victory with a weekend total of 159 strokes. Yazdani had a final round 78 to win by an impressive margin. Jordan Fernande claimed runner-up honors with a total of 232 shots for the weekend. Rounding up the top three was Gavin Kurt with a weekend total of 238 strokes for third place honors.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 8-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. The tour’s vision is to provide superb hospitality and make every event a memorable one. With play open to both males and females, nearly every junior golfer is eligible to participate on the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour. Currently the HJGT is the largest multi-day junior golf tour in the United States hosting more 2-day nationally ranked events than any other tour. The HJGT has been able to achieve this goal by running the most professional events and providing an exceptional value to all of our players and families over the last 14 years.

Based out of Orlando, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the country. In 2021, the HJGT will conduct events in Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Canada. Juniors will compete in 1 of 6 divisions which are: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys under 10, Girls 14-18, and Girls Under 13. Click here to view approximate yardages for each division.
