Buffalo Grove Junior Open

From June 5-6, 2021, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Buffalo Grove Junior Open. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of five divisions that included the Boys 16-18 Division, Boys 14-15 Division, Boys 11-13 Division, Girls 14-18 Division, and Girls Under 13 Division.

Buffalo Grove Junior Open

Aman Shah from Aurora, IL was the first-place finisher this weekend. Shah brought in scores of 73 and 76 for a combined total of 149 (+5) for the weekend. Ryan Hogan from Vernon Hills, IL was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 74 and 77 for a combined total of 151 (+7). Alex Felicione from Northfield, IL finished the top three honors with scores of 74 and 79 for a weekend total of 153 (+9).

Zazael Arlan Atendido from Bensenville, IL was the first-place finisher this weekend. Arlan Atendido brought in scores of 80 and 84 for a combined total of 164 (+20) for the weekend. Matt Sims from Naperville, IL was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 84 and 82 for a combined total of 166 (+22). Hunter Whitney from Deerfield, IL finished the top three honors with scores of 81 and 86 for a weekend total of 167 (+23).

Cody Guetzke from Hartland, WI finished the top three honors with scores of 78 and 77 for a weekend total of 155 (+9).

Chelsea She from Buffalo, IL was the first-place finisher this weekend. She brought in scores of 79 and 78 for a combined total of 157 (+11) for the weekend. Kailey White from Frankfort, IL was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 79 and 81 for a combined total of 160 (+14). Meilin Hoshino from Chicago, IL and Addison Surber from Montgomery, TX tied for third-place. Hoshino tallied scores of 83 and 78 for a combined score of 161 (+15), while Surber brought in scores of 81 and 80 to finish with a combined 161 (+15) for the weekend.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 8-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. The tour’s vision is to provide superb hospitality and make every event a memorable one. With play open to both males and females, nearly every junior golfer is eligible to participate on the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour. Currently the HJGT is the largest multi-day junior golf tour in the United States hosting more 2-day nationally ranked events than any other tour. The HJGT has been able to achieve this goal by running the most professional events and providing an exceptional value to all of our players and families over the last 14 years.

Based out of Orlando, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the country. In 2021, the HJGT will conduct events in Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Canada. Juniors will compete in 1 of 6 divisions which are: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys under 10, Girls 14-18, and Girls Under 13. Click here to view approximate yardages for each division. The HJGT season is based on a calendar year and players earn points throughout the season towards year end honors beginning December 31, 2021.
