Boston Summer Junior Open

From June 6-7, 2020, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Boston Summer Junior Open. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of four divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15,  Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18, and Justin Rose Division Girls Under 13.

Boys 16-18

Boston Summer Junior Open

Ryan Whitehead from Sudbury, MA was the first-place finisher this weekend. Whitehead brought in scores of 76 and 82 for a combined total of 158 for the weekend. Matthew Durnan from Garden City, NY was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 77 and 83 for a combined total of 160. Jack Fitzgibbon from New Canaan, CT finished the top three honors with scores of 80 and 82 for a weekend total of 162.

Boys 14-15

Josh Phillips from Lee, NH was the first-place finisher this weekend. Phillips brought in scores of 80 and 77 for a combined total of 157 for the weekend. Ryan Chang from Lexington, MA and John Hiller from New York, NY were the runners up for the weekend. Both Chang and Hiller had scores of 83 and 79 for a combined total of 162.

Josephine Genereux from Greenwich, CT was the first-place finisher this weekend. Genereux brought in scores of 79 and 80 for a combined total of 159 for the weekend. Cc Kaplan from Riverside, CT was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 80 and 81 for a combined total of 161. Eleanor Parkerson from Boston, MA finished the top three honors with scores of 87 and 77 for a weekend total of 164.

Abby Zhu from Andover, MA was the first-place finisher this weekend. Zhu brought in scores of 93 and 85 for a combined total of 178 for the weekend. Evelyn Parkerson from Boston, MA was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 105 and 95 for a combined total of 200.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 8-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. The tour’s vision is to provide superb hospitality and make every event a memorable one. With play open to both males and females, nearly every junior golfer is eligible to participate on the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour. Currently the HJGT is the largest multi-day junior golf tour in the United States hosting more 2-day nationally ranked events than any other tour. The HJGT has been able to achieve this goal by running the most professional events and providing an exceptional value to all of our players and families over the last 14 years.

Based out of Orlando, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the country. In 2021, the HJGT will conduct events in Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Canada. Juniors will compete in 1 of 6 divisions which are: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys under 10, Girls 14-18, and Girls Under 13. Click here to view approximate yardages for each division. The HJGT season is based on a calendar year and players earn points throughout the season towards year end honors beginning December 31, 2021.
