From Saturday, June 8ththrough Sunday June 9th, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Boston Spring Junior Open. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of five divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18, and the Justin Rose Division Girls 13 and Under.
Robbie Forti of Peabody, MA took the first-round lead after scoring a 75 and remain at the top of the leaderboard all weekend. Forti shot a total of 152 strokes for the weekend and claim victory on Sunday with birdies on holes 5 and 12. Collin McMahon-Shea of Arlington, MA finished in second place with rounds of 78 and 79, tying with Samuel Gerry of Woburn, MA for runner-up honors with three-day totals of 157 shots.
Aidan Emmerich of Swampscott, MA claimed victory honors for the weekend. Emmerich shot rounds of 76 and 75 over the two-day tournament, with birdies on holes 4 and 9 on Sunday to secure first-place honors. Tyler Bruneau of Concord, MA finished runner-up with a two-day total of 170 shots to round-up the division.
Emil Nielsen of Wellesley, MA shot an impressive first-round of 74 with birdies on holes 3, 11, 15 and 16 to claim victory. Our lone competitor finished the week with a total of 157 shots with a birdie on hole number 6 on Sunday to seal his victory.
Eleanor Parkerson of Boston, MA claimed victory on Sunday with a three-day total of 161 shots. Parkerson was able to win by a margin of 5 strokes and a birdie on hole 6 to secure the win. Following her was Hanna Chan of Hong Kong, China closed her week at a total of 166 shots and claim solo runner-up honors with birdies on holes 2 and 6 on Sunday. Rounding up the top three was Mia Dang of Worcester, MA with a three-day total of 178 shots to claim solo third-place honors.
Kylie Heffernan of Lancaster, MA shot a two-day total of 168 shots for the weekend to seal a six-shot victory over her closest competitor. Heffernan closed out her week with a final round of 86 on Sunday to claim victory. Following her was Isabel Brozena of North Reading, MA with a weekend total of 174 shots and a birdie on hole 9 on Sunday. And rounding up our top-three was Erika Redmond of Concord, MA with a weekend total of 176 shots to claim solo third-place honors.
