From January 25th to the 26th the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Black Bear Junior Open The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of five divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18, and Justin Rose Division Girls Under 13.
Boys 16-18

Harrison Blech, from Suffern, NY was the first-place finisher this weekend. Blech brought in scores of 70 and 75 for a combined total of 145 stroke for the weekend. Jason Howe from Toronto, Canada was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 76 and 69 for a combined total of 145, which lead into three playoff holes. Cooper Lindberg from Orlando, FL finished the top three honors with scores of 76 and 72 for a weekend total of 148.
Boys 14-15
Zhengyu Liu, from Windermere, FL was able to seal his victory by ending the weekend with scores of 73 and 76 for a combined total of 149 strokes. Kelvin Hernandez from Gurabo, Puerto Rico was the runner up with scores of 76 and 75 for a 151 weekend total. Andrew Reyes from Kathleen, GA finished the top three honors with scores of 77 and 78 for a weekend total of 155.
Boys 11-13

In this division we had only two participants. Konner Kubica, from Northville, MI was the first-place finisher this weekend. Kubica brought in scores of 88 and 84 with a combined score of 172. Henry Latta from Ponte Vedra Beach, FL was the second-place finisher with scores of 89 and 84 for a total of 173.
Girls 14-18

Audrey Tir, from Winnetka, IL was the top finisher with impressive scores of 77 and 75 for 152 weekend finish. Fujiawei An, from Orlando, FL took home the runner up title with scores of 78 and 83 for a weekend total of 161. Victoria Tan, from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia rounded out the top three shooting an 81 on both days giving her a combined total of 162 for the weekend.
Girls U13

Katie Yang, from Orlando, FL was the top finisher for the Justin Rose division with scores of 79 and 78. Her combined total for the weekend was 157 strokes. Lauryn Finley, from Apple Valley, MN was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 83 and 76, a combined total of 159 strokes.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour
In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.
The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
