Becool Invitational at Sandy Burr

On Saturday, July 28 – Sunday, July 29, 2018, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour hosted the Becool Invitational at Sandy Burr in Wayland, Massachusetts. The two-day, thirty-six-hole course held at the Sandy Burr Country Club consisted of players from five of our divisions including the Tiger Woods Boys 16-18 Division, Will Smith Boys 14-15 Division, Ernie Els Boys 11-13 Division, Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18 Division, and the Justin Rose Girls U13 Division.

Tiger Woods Boys 16-18

Becool Invitational at Sandy Burr

Jay Callahan of Wellesley captured the title in the Tiger Woods Boys 16-18 Division with his E total. He led his playing field with the most birdies (8) and the lowest scoring average (72). As for second-place, there was a tie between Un Ning (Macau, CA) and John Cammarano (Arlington, MA) who both finished at +1 through the thirty-six holes.

Will Smith Boys 14-15

Becool Invitational at Sandy Burr

In the Will Smith Boys 14-15 Division, it was Weston Jones of Sudbury who pulled off the victory with his +1 completion. He led his playing field with the lowest scoring average of 72.5. Second-place finisher, Devin Littler of Poughquag, New York ended the two-day tournament at +6. Aiden Spampinato of Victor, New York placed third after making 152 strokes for a +8 finish.

Ernie Els 11-13

Becool Invitational at Sandy Burr

Yuxuan Li of Shanghai won the Ernie Els Boys 11-13 Division after totaling +5 through the thirty-six holes. He led his playing field with the most birdies (7) and the lowest scoring average (74.5). Rayan Nabilzadeh of Stamford, Connecticut placed second with his +9 total at the end of the two-day tournament. Third-place finisher was Brian Adams of North Hampton who made 157 strokes for a +13 finish.

Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18

Shanghai’s Jieni Li walked away the champion this weekend with her +6 total in the Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18 Division. She led her playing field with the longest birdie or better streak (2), the lowest Par-3 average (3.4), and the lowest scoring average (75). Second-place finisher was Aleks Golde of Atlanta, Georgia who finished the thirty-six holes at +7. Hartley Zook of Flemington, New Jersey placed third after making 163 strokes to result in a +19 finish.

Justin Rose Girls U13

Becool Invitational at Sandy Burr

In the Justin Rose Girls U13 Division, it was Xiaokun Ni of Shanghai who secured the first-place title with her +29 total on the weekend. She led her playing field with the most birdies (2), the lowest Par-3 average (3.8), and the lowest scoring average (86.5). Also of Shanghai, was second-place finisher, Jiayi Lin who finished the thirty-six holes at +36. Third-place finisher was Sofia Ghorbel of Greenwich, Connecticut who made 188 strokes to finish at +44.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
