Bear Trace Junior Open

On Saturday September 8 – Sunday September 9, 2018 The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Bear Trace Junior Open at The Bear Trace at Cumberland Mountain in Crossville, TN. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole, two-day format and the field was made from Five divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Bryson DeChambeau Division U10, and the JustinTimberlake Division Girls 14-18.

Tiger Woods Boys 16-18

Bear Trace Junior Open

Hogan Herring captured the first-place finish at the Bear Trace Junior Open in the Tiger Woods Boys 16-18 division with a 2-day total of 156 (74-82). With solid play both days, Herring was able to hold off Grant Puckett by only 1 shot. Tyler Jackson and Robby Rainy rounded out the division with the 3rd place tie shooting a 2-day total of 159.

Will Smith Boys 14-15

Bear Trace Junior Open

In the Will Smith Boys 14-15 division Beck Lewis took home first place this weekend in shooting a 2-day total of 158.  Solid play in the second round allowed Lewis to take victory over Tucker Christopher who finished second with a 2-day total of 158. Rounding out the division was Zachery Fletcher who finished 5 shots behind Christoper to claim a 3rd place finish.

Ernie Els 11-13

Hudson Wilt of Nashville, TN did not disappoint in the Ernie Els boys 11-13 division as he carded rounds of 73-79 to win in his division over John Cheek who carded rounds of 81-84 to claim 2nd place.

Kelsee Neely ended up with the first-place finish in the Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18 Division by carding a total of 161(76-85). With consistent rounds, Neely was able to hold off Ella Overstreet and Makenzie Morton by 9 shots, which resulted in a tie for 2nd place.

Boys 10 Under

Eli Wilt did not disappoint in the Bryson Dechambeau boys U10 division as he carded rounds of 85-90 to win in his division over Leo Huddleston who carded rounds of 100-91 to claim 2nd place with a total of 191.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
