Baltimore Junior Open

On Saturday September 1 – Sunday September 2, 2018 The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Baltimore Junior Open at Wetlands Golf Club in Aberdeen, MD. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole, two-day format and the field was made from six divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15,Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Bryson DeChambeau Division U10, Justin RoseDivision Girls U13 and the Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18.

Tiger Woods Boys 16-18

Baltimore Junior Open

Daniel Suter of Gaithersburg, MD captured the first-place finish at the Baltimore Junior Open in the Tiger Woods Boys 16-18 division with a 2-day total of 145 (72-73). With solid play both days, Suter was able to hold off Yuvraj Joshi of Washington DC by 3 shots. Brandon Wilson from Perry Hall, MD rounded out the division with the 3rd place finish shooting a 2-day total of 150 (78-72).

Will Smith Boys 14-15

Baltimore Junior Open

In the Will Smith Boys 14-15 division Philip Minnehan of Rochester took home first place this weekend in shooting a 2-day total of 149. Solid play in the second round allowed Minnehan to take victory over Aaron Williams who finished second with a 2-day total of 153. Rounding out the division was Ian Johnson of Alexandria, VA who finished 9 shots behind Williams to claim a 3rd place finish.

Ernie Els 11-13

Baltimore Junior Open

Matt Normand from Lumberton, NJ did not disappoint in the Ernie Els boys 11-13 division as he carded rounds of 81-76 to win in his division over Luke Huang of Great Neck, NY who carded rounds of 84-77 to claim 2nd place. Behind Huang was Maximus Liu of Warren, NJ who shot a 2-day total of 163 (80-83) to take a solo 3rd place finish.

Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18

Madi Smithco ended up with the first-place finish in the Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18 Division by carding a total of 157(81-76). With consistent rounds, Smithco was able to hold off Ava O’Sullivan by 4 shots and claiming 2nd place. Rounding out the division was Mia Diamond who shot a 2-day total of 163 to claim a 3rd place finish.

Justin Rose Girls U13

In the Justin Rose Girls U13 division Emily Wang of McLean took home the victory with firing a 2-day total of 162. Lia Huang followed behind with shooting a 2-day total of 181 to take a solo 2nd finish. Rounding out the division is Sarah Wang from McLean who finished with a 2-day total of 184.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
