Ballyowen Junior Open

From June 12-13, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Ballyowen Junior Open. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of five divisions that included the Boys 16-18 Division, Boys 14-15 Division, Boys 11-13 Division, Girls 14-18 Division, and Girls Under 13 Division.

Boys 16-18

Harrison Blech from Suffern, NY was the first-place finisher this weekend. Blech brought in scores of 80 and 70 for a combined total of 150 for the weekend. Christian Deussing from Solebury, PA was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 75 and 76 for a combined total of 151. Brian Murdock from Bergenfield, NJ finished the top three honors with scores of 78 and 74 for a weekend total of 152.

Harry Cohen from Wyckoff, NJ was the first-place finisher this weekend. Cohen brought in scores of 80 and 75 for a combined total of 155 for the weekend. Brandon Quach from Cranford, NJ was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 79 and 77 for a combined total of 156. Dominick Beck from Randolph, NJ and Jack St. Ledger from Little Falls, NJ tied for the top three honors. Beck brought in scores of 79 and 82 and St. Ledger brought in scores of 80 and 81 for a weekend total of 161.

Ryan Altschul from Franklin Lakes, NJ was the first-place finisher this weekend. Altschul brought in scores of 73 and 74 for a combined total of 147 for the weekend. Ryan Klarreich from Allendale, NJ was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 79 and 71 for a combined total of 150. Tong Si from Millburn, NJ finished the top three honors with scores of 74 and 77 for a weekend total of 151.

Sofia Nogalo from Ivington, NY finished the top three honors with scores of 78 and 82 for a weekend total of 160.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 8-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. The tour’s vision is to provide superb hospitality and make every event a memorable one. With play open to both males and females, nearly every junior golfer is eligible to participate on the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour. Currently the HJGT is the largest multi-day junior golf tour in the United States hosting more 2-day nationally ranked events than any other tour. The HJGT has been able to achieve this goal by running the most professional events and providing an exceptional value to all of our players and families over the last 14 years.

Based out of Orlando, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the country. In 2021, the HJGT will conduct events in Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Canada. Juniors will compete in 1 of 6 divisions which are: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys under 10, Girls 14-18, and Girls Under 13. Click here to view approximate yardages for each division. The HJGT season is based on a calendar year and players earn points throughout the season towards year end honors beginning December 31, 2021.
