Atlanta Fall Junior open

On Saturday November 17 – Sunday November 18, 2018 The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Atlanta Fall Junior Open in Gainesville, GA. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole, two-day format and the field was made from five divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Justin Rose Division Girls U13, and the Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18.

Tiger Woods Boys 16-18

Atlanta Fall Junior open

Will Stakel captured the first-place finish at the Atlanta Fall Junior Open in the Tiger Woods Boys 16-18 division with a 2-day total of -2. With solid play both days, Stakel was able to hold off Steve Kibare as he shot even. Ian Lazar Carter Davis rounded out the division with the 3rd place finish shooting a 2-day total of +4.

Will Smith Boys 14-15

Atlanta Fall Junior open

In the Will Smith Boys 14-15 division Rob Ferris of Roswell, GA took home first place this weekend by shooting a 2-day total of +7. Solid play in the second round allowed Ferris to take victory over Tejas Reddy who finished second with a 2-day total of +10. Rounding out the division was Zach Vaniman of Marietta, GA who finished with a +14 total to claim the 3rd place finish.

Ernie Els 11-13

Taiki Miyagi of Johns Creek, Ga did not disappoint in the Ernie Els boys 11-13 division as he carded +9 for the weekend to win in his division over Clayton Couey and Owen Baginski who each carded +14 to tie for 2nd place.

Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18

Thienna Huynh ended up with the first-place finish in the Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18 Division by shooting a total of +1. With consistent rounds, Huynh was able to hold off 2nd place finisher Sarah Hsu by 7 shots. Rounding out the division was Mary Hunt Murray who shot a 2-day total of +9 to claim a 3rd place.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
