From September 26-27, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Academy Cup at the Ridge at Back Brook. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of six divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Bryson DeChambeau Division Boys Under 10, Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18, and Justin Rose Division Girls Under 13.
Boys 16-18

Steven Lee from Scarsdale, NY was the first-place finisher this weekend. Lee brought in scores of 75 and 72 for a combined total of 147 for the weekend. Will Campbell from Yarmouth, MA was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 75 and 77 for a combined total of 152. Eric Morgan from Newtown Square, PA finished the top three honors with scores of 77 and 76 for a weekend total of 153.
Boys 14-15

Tyler Vitolo from Greenwich, CT was the first-place finisher this weekend. Vitolo brought in scores of 78 and 77 for a combined total of 155 for the weekend. Jonathan Oakes from Dobbs Ferry, NY was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 82 and 79 for a combined total of 161. Michael Litke from Glastonbury, CT finished the top three honors with scores of 84 and 82 for a weekend total of 166.
Boys 11-13

Matthew DiFiore from Malverne, NY was the first-place finisher this weekend. DiFiore brought in scores of 71 and 72 for a combined total of 143 for the weekend. Nick Werner from Wilkes Barre, PA was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 75 and 74 for a combined total of 149. Matthew LU from Basking Ridge, NJ finished the top three honors with scores of 75 and 79 for a weekend total of 154.
Girls 14-18

Madeleine Zang from Princeton, NJ was the first-place finisher this weekend. Zang brought in scores of 79 and 76 for a combined total of 155 for the weekend. Cc Kaplan from Riverside, CT was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 77 and 82 for a combined total of 159. Ava Lozito from Fairfeild, NJ finished the top three honors with scores of 79 and 81 for a weekend total of 160.
Girls U13

Emma Lee from Scarsdale, NY was the first-place finisher this weekend. Lee brought in scores of 72 and 75 for a combined total of 147 for the weekend. Samantha Loninger from Crosswicks, NJ was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 80 and 82 for a combined total of 162. Jacqueline Zang from Princeton, NJ finished the top three honors with scores of 81 and 81 for a weekend total of 162.
Boys 10 Under

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.
The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
