From February 18-20, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the 54 Holes Phoenix Junior Open. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of five divisions that included the Boys 16-18 Division, Boys 14-15 Division, Boys 11-13 Division, Girls 14-18 Division, and Girls Under 13 Division.
Ashton McArthur from Rexburg, ID was the first-place finisher this weekend. McArthur brought in scores of 72, 66, and 70 for a combined total of 208 for the weekend. Blake Steensland from Edina, MN was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 74, 70, and 71 for a combined total of 215. Kyle Koski from Chandler, AZ finished the top three honors with scores of 73, 71, and 73 for a weekend total of 217.
Miles Elgert from Lincoln, NE was the first-place finisher this weekend. Elgert brought in scores of 76, 73, and 77 for a combined total of 226 for the weekend. Carver Larson from Alexandria, MN was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 74, 77, and 79 for a combined total of 230. Luke Duval from Scottsdale, AZ the top three honors with scores of 77, 80, and 75 for a weekend total of 232.
Henry Newkirk from Scottsdale, AZ was the first-place finisher this weekend. Newkirk brought in scores of 80, 74, and 78 for a combined total of 232 for the weekend. Ernie Singh from Los Altos, CA was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 74, 84, and 75 for a combined total of 233. Apollo Lynch from Scottsdale, AZ finished the top three honors with scores of 75, 83, and 76 for a weekend total of 234.
Eileen Park from Red Deer, Canada was the first-place finisher this weekend. Park brought in scores of 71, 70, and 72 for a combined total of 213 for the weekend. Rylee Salome from Tome, NM was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 71, 69, and 76 for a combined total of 216. Flora (Zhen) Tao from Chandler, AZ the top three honors with scores of 77, 72, and 74 for a weekend total of 223.
Jaycelynn Hermsen from Queen Creek, AZ was the first-place finisher this weekend. Hermsen brought in scores of 105, 97, and 97 for a combined total of 299 for the weekend.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour
The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 8-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. The tour’s vision is to provide superb hospitality and make every event a memorable one. With play open to both males and females, nearly every junior golfer is eligible to participate on the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour. Currently the HJGT is the largest multi-day junior golf tour in the United States hosting more 2-day nationally ranked events than any other tour. The HJGT has been able to achieve this goal by running the most professional events and providing an exceptional value to all of our players and families over the last 14 years.
Based out of Orlando, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the country. In 2021, the HJGT will conduct events in Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Canada. Juniors will compete in 1 of 6 divisions which are: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys under 10, Girls 14-18, and Girls Under 13. Click here to view approximate yardages for each division.
