54 Hole Open at King and Prince

From February 18-20, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the 54 Hole Open at King and Prince. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of five divisions that included the Boys 16-18 Division, Boys 14-15 Division, Boys 11-13 Division, Boys Under 10 Division,  Girls 14-18 Division, and Girls Under 13 Division.

Boys 16-18

Grayson Wood from Fredricksburg, VA was the first-place finisher this weekend. Wood brought in scores of 72, 68, and 69 for a combined total of 209 for the weekend. Casey Kosney from Spartanburg, SC was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 73, 72, and 73 for a combined total of 218. Jake Birdwell from Blaine, MN and Ryan Wijaya from Yogyakarta, Indonesia tied to finish out the top three honors. Birdwell had scores of 73, 74, and 72 while Wijaya had scores of 78, 71, and 70 for them both to finish with a weekend total of 219.

Chase Birdwell from Blaine, MN was the first-place finisher this weekend. Birdwell brought in scores of 77, 72, and 73 for a combined total of 222 for the weekend. Nicholas Flite from Evans, GA was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 81, 79, and 76 for a combined total of 236. Daniel Song from Seoul, Republic of Korea finished the top three honors with scores of 88, 75, and 79 for a weekend total of 242.

Jack Denery from Little Rock, AR was the first-place finisher this weekend. Denery brought in scores of 79, 70, and 72 for a combined total of 221 for the weekend. Tyler Newsome from Augusta, GA was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 81, 71, and 70 for a combined total of 222. Coley Cassedy Groveton, GA the top three honors with scores of 80, 75, and 77 for a weekend total of 232.

Marie Tesiero from Saint Johns, FL was the first-place finisher this weekend. Tesiero brought in scores of 88, 77, and 78 for a combined total of 243 for the weekend. Sydney Courtney from Whitesburg, TN and Anna McCall Moore from Paduah, KY  tied for the runner up of the weekend. Courtney had scores of 94, 92, and 92 and Moore had scores 104, 89, and 85 for them both to finished with a combined total of 278. Skyler Tierney from Ada, MI finished the top three honors with scores of 97, 94, and 94 for a weekend total of 285.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 8-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. The tour’s vision is to provide superb hospitality and make every event a memorable one. With play open to both males and females, nearly every junior golfer is eligible to participate on the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour. Currently the HJGT is the largest multi-day junior golf tour in the United States hosting more 2-day nationally ranked events than any other tour. The HJGT has been able to achieve this goal by running the most professional events and providing an exceptional value to all of our players and families over the last 14 years.

Based out of Orlando, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the country. In 2021, the HJGT will conduct events in Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Canada. Juniors will compete in 1 of 6 divisions which are: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys under 10, Girls 14-18, and Girls Under 13. Click here to view approximate yardages for each division. The HJGT season is based on a calendar year and players earn points throughout the season towards year end honors beginning December 31, 2021.
