54 Hole Open at King and Prince

From Saturday, February 16 – Monday, February 18, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the 54 Hole Open at King and Prince at King and Prince Golf Course in St. Simons Island, GA. The tournament was made up of a 54-hole, three-day format and the field was made from five divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18, and the Justin Rose Division Girls 13 and Under.

54 Hole Open at King and Prince

Nic Whittaker of Lansing, NY was the champion of the Tiger Woods Division, ending the three-day weekend with 225 strokes. Just two strokes behind him was second place finisher Taylor Sweat of Blackshear, GA, with 227 strokes. James Ballato of Fernandina Beach, FL rounded out the division just one stroke behind Sweat.

Will Smith Boys 14-15

54 Hole Open at King and Prince

Jack Dumas of Le Claire, IA did not disappoint in the Will Smith Division as he finished at 226 strokes to win his division over Adam Vermut of Jacksonville, FL who placed second with a total of 241 strokes. Rounding out the division was Price Miller of Sandy Springs, GA who finished the tournament with 255 strokes.

Tip Price of Greenville, SC had a great weekend and captured first place in the Ernie Els Division with a three-day total of 226 strokes. John Brady Knight of Atlanta, GA and Campbell Skelly of Charleston, SC rounded out the podium with 232 and 260 strokes respectively.

Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18

The Justin Timberlake Division was no match for Sloan Lanier of Blackshear, GA. She won the first-place title with a three-day total of 246 strokes.

With consistent play all three days, Kate Barber of Savannah, GA took home the gold for the Justin Rose Division, with a total of 223 strokes. Ariana Urrea of Lima, Peru took home second as she finished with 269 strokes. Rounding out the division was Marisa Flores of Paramus, NJ, with 286 strokes.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
