54 Hole Junior Open at Orange County National

From July 31-August 2, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the 54 Hole Junior Open at Orange County National. The tournament was made up of a 54-hole format with a field of four divisions that included the Boys 16-18 Division, Boys 14-15 Division, Boys 11-13 Division, and Girls 14-18 Division.

BK Kim from Windermere, FL was the first-place finisher this weekend. Kim brought in scores of 68, 73, and 67 for a combined total of 208 (-8) for the weekend. Rodrigo Carranza from Trujillo, Peru and Jack Snedaker from Lake Mary, FL tied for second-place with a score of 211 (-5). Carranza tallied round scores of 68, 72, and 71, while Snedaker brought in scores of 68, 73, and 70.

Mateo Payan from Cali, Colombia was the first-place finisher this weekend. Payan brought in scores of 75, 74, and 69 for a combined total of 218 (+2) for the weekend. Jaime Andre Yzaga from Lima, Peru was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 74, 72, and 76 for a combined total of 222 (+6). Matteo Galiano from Coral Springs, FL and Roman Soloman from Sarasota, FL tied for third-place with a score of 226 (+10). Galiano brought in round scores of 77, 75, and 74, while Soloman had scores of 76, 75, and 75.

Nicklaus Downing from Windermere, FL was the first-place finisher this weekend. Downing brought in scores of 79, 68, and 74 for a combined total of 221 (+5) for the weekend. Giancarol Aguirre from Lima, Peru was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 74, 77, and 73 for a combined total of 224 (+8). Avery Liu from Windermere, FL finished the top three honors with scores of 83, 80, and 76 for a weekend total of 239 (+23).

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 8-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. The tour’s vision is to provide superb hospitality and make every event a memorable one. With play open to both males and females, nearly every junior golfer is eligible to participate on the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour. Currently the HJGT is the largest multi-day junior golf tour in the United States hosting more 2-day nationally ranked events than any other tour. The HJGT has been able to achieve this goal by running the most professional events and providing an exceptional value to all of our players and families over the last 14 years.

Based out of Orlando, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the country. In 2021, the HJGT will conduct events in Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Canada. Juniors will compete in 1 of 6 divisions which are: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys under 10, Girls 14-18, and Girls Under 13. Click here to view approximate yardages for each division. The HJGT season is based on a calendar year and players earn points throughout the season towards year end honors beginning December 31, 2021.
